Que lastima! Less than a year after Oprah revealed that she was saying goodbye to television, her Cuban counterpart Cristina Saralegui has announced that she’s doing the same thing. Yup, after over 20 years on the air, her groundbreaking Spanish talk show, “Cristina” is going off the air.

photo via Hispanic PR Wire

Since its major debut in 1989, "Cristina” has been a staple of Spanish television. Her professional demeanor and friendly attitude has attracted some of the biggest names in Latino entertainment. Stars like Shakira, Ricky Martin, and Gloria Estefan have all taken a seat on the legendary stage.

Of course, unlike Oprah, Ms. Saralegui wasn’t afraid to shy away from the outrageous. Throughout the years, she’s been known for her silly costumes (you’ve got to love that barrel outfit), beauty contests, and half-naked cowboys prancing on the set.

And as far as heavy-hitting goes, her dramatic interviews with former Menudo members and controversial star Gloria Trevi scored huge ratings. And by all accounts, “Cristina” is still riding high. Which makes us wonder, why the premature exit?

According to Saralegui, “It is bittersweet to announce the end of what has been a very rewarding experience, but after many wonderful years, now is the perfect time to retire the show and move on to the next exciting phase of my career.”

What exactly will that be? According to sources, she’s still under contract to Univision, which means we can expect plenty of Cristina specials in the near future. But as far as “Cristina” the show goes, the final episode is set to air November 1st and you can bet Team Blogamole will be watching (with plenty of tissues in hand).

Juanes has been tweeting from Mexico this week, and he’s been keeping excellent company. El artista colombiano posted links to photos with a couple of living legends in Mexican music, Marco Antonio Solis y “el gran maestro” Vicente Fernandez. Could new collabs be in the works?

As all you loyal Blogamole readers already know, Tito el Bambino’s new music video for his song “Te Comencé a Querer” will be premiering exclusively on Tr3s this Monday, August 9th, y lo tendremos para ustedes aqui también.

This will be the fifth single release off his highly successful 2009 album “El Patrón,” and since we know you can’t wait for the video, we have an exclusive teaser clip solo para ustedes!

Tito el Bambino
Behind the scenes with Tito el Bambino

Aqui podemos apreciar what Tito told us earlier this week about being attracted to the
infrastructure of Zurich, Switzerland. The story unfolds as the beautiful love interest packs her
things, and Tito goes in pursuit to knock on her door. Fingers crossed he’s there in time to catch her! Gotta love it when music videos are more like mini-novelas (sigh).

We can’t help but marvel at how much the music of Tito el Bambino has evolved since the
days of Hector y Tito. The artist seems to be maturing beyond genres, as can be heard with
the different tropical rhythms throughout his record, including “Te Comencé a Querer,” which
sounds a lot more bachata than urban or reggaeton.

Tito nos cuenta que sí fué interesante la experiencia de grabar en Suiza, especially while
they were filming one of the scenes for “Te Comencé a Querer” and a group of rowdy men
celebrating a bachelor party appeared by a fountain nearby. Apparently, it’s customary for the
Swiss to celebrate la despedida de soltero by getting the groom drunk and daring him to do
ridiculous things. En un lugar where the water is so clean that people freely drink from the city’s
fountains, according to Tito, what happened next may change that for any witnesses.

“De momento, mandaron a desvestir el muchacho, el de la despedida de soltero, y se
metió en la fuente desnudo. Y yo le decía al amigo mio, ‘¡El que beba de esa agua, se
va a morir!’”

A drunk and naked bachelor in the fountain? Estamos de acuerdo Tito, that water has officially
been contaminated!

Although, it somehow seems fitting that a man on the verge of committing to love would be part
of Tito’s experience while filming “Te Comencé a Querer.” Tito nos cuenta que “la canción se
trata de amor a primera vista,” following in that theme of romance that we’ve been enjoying from
his latest album for well over a year now.

Ya pronto podremos ver el vidéo completo, during the exclusive premiere on Tr3s, and you
can be sure we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any fountains and/or drunken bachelors in the
background. Tito espera que este sencillo is well-received and becomes as much of a chart-
topping sensation as the ones prior.

Other goals he has for his career include continuing to win the hearts of as many fans as
possible, y también sueña con colaborar con artistas que admira, such as fellow boricuas Ricky
Martin
and Marc Anthony.

No estaría nada mal, but for now we’re looking forward to Tito el solista and his brand new video this Monday. No te lo pierdas!

For over a year, Bomba Estéreo has been an unstoppable touring machine. The band's debut album Blow Up dropped in 2009 to critical acclaim, and since then they've served their "electro vacilón" sound to packed shows across the country (and the world!).

MTV Iggy's "Best New Band In The World" recently kicked off their U.S. summer tour, which will culminate at the Bumbershoot Festival on September 9. When Team Blogamole heard that our hottest Descubre & Download band of 2009 was going to be in NYC, we had to catch them at Celebrate Brooklyn!, where they braved some scary thunder, suffocating heat and fatigue to give fans some real "Fuego"!

There's nothing like a hot summer night filled with great tunes! Lucky for us, Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Bandshell was wired with Latin music on Friday night (July 23).

Bomba Estereo

Primero en el escenario was BK’s own Navegante, led by Jean Shepherd of Puerto Rican and Peruvian descent. His electro funk rhythm had local fans dancing and singing along, though they were forced to keep it behind the barricades that held them about thirty feet from the stage.

Organizers had the front area reserved for VIP members, and there weren’t many of them there to fill up the space — unfortunately for Navegante, who could have had a nice crowd of dancers right at his feet.

Los que estaban ahi para ver a los rockeros puertoriqueños La Secta Allstar also had to sing along from a distance. The recipients of Premio Lo Nuestro’s 2010 award for best rock album of the year delighted the crowd with classics, including "Bombón de Azúcar," canción original de La Secta que fué prestada y llevada a la cultura pop por Ricky Martin.

Thunder and rain threatened to cancel the rest of the concert during intermission, scattering away some of the crowd, so that it was largely a Bomba Estéreo fan base left waiting for them. But the skies dried up, and by the time the Colombian group exploded on the scene, the hipster Latino mix of the BK audience was ready to join them for the ride.

Li, la voz de Bomba Estéreo, salió bailando dressed in a mesh see-through top, with gold 80’s style shorts, and a long scarf with black, gold, and silver etchings draped like a robe around her neck, cinched to the front of her waistline by the elastic in her shorts.

She was all a-glitter down to her silver shoes, bailando su electro cumbia con un suave movimiento de cadera que hipnotizaba la gente y los puso a todos de pie. By this time, the VIP area at the front of the stage had a nice crowd filling it up and dancing with her.

Ricky Martin may be the most popular original Menudo star to come out of the closet, but he's definitely not the first.

Angelo Garcia, the youngest member of the boy band in its heyday, recently revealed his sexuality to the world in an interview with Paragon Men.  Did we mention he also posed NUDE in his spread?!

Angelo insists, however, that he was never closeted and was always true to who he was. In the interview, he explains:

"I've never been in the closet and I've never lied about my sexuality. I believe in being honest with myself and others. I'm a very sexual person and I love sex with men. I've never told anyone anything different."

Garcia also weighed in on Ricky's "spring awakening":

"I knew that Ricky was gay, but I would never out anyone. He seems to have a wonderful family now and to be comfortable in his own skin. What more could anyone want?"

Angelo denies that anything ever went on between them, but we have our suspicions! ;-) Either way, looks like another Menudo member has no problem with being proud of his sexuality! We definitely support that!

Tr3s Comunidad, what do you think of Angelo's big reveal? Let us know below, or @MTV3!

What's cuter than this? Nothing, except for Ricky Martin and pop icon Cyndi Lauper making kissy face at amfAR's 'New York Inspiration Gala' last week (June 3). Adorable!

Ricky Martin

In one of his first public appearances since confirming his sexual orientation, Ricky Martin attended amfAR's event celebrating Men's style as an honoree.

The Puerto Rican hottie and several hundred guests — including Zoe Saldana — were treated to a dazzling night at the New York Public Library, featuring fashion and a special concert by Cyndi Lauper. The benefit helped to raise more than $140,000 for AIDs research.

Kylie Minogue, who hosted the black tie/black leather event, said she's happy that Martin is "embracing and living life," USA Today reported.

Ricky Martin at amFAR gala

Martin may be a celebrity, but he's still a regular guy. While attending the gala, he tweeted two cute messages:

"Im @ the incredible amfAR Gala. But sources tell me the game score is 18-22 HAHA #GOLAKERS... http://n.pr/aJLK8h What an honor! It was a beautiful night Thank you amFAR!"

We love ya, Ricky!

They say don't judge a book by it's cover, but can you judge a man by his Twitter? In our latest installment of Twitt3r Analyz3r, fans & Blogamole attempt to dissect what their favorite celebrity tweets reveal...

in the hit telenovela "Rebeld"
Twitter Bio: DISCO SOLISTA ALMAS TRASPARENTES YA A LA VENTA

Long before Ricky Martin made it cool to come out of the closet, Christian Chávez was standing up for gay rights and causing headlines with now ex-husband BJ Murphy. Christian has turned his romantic troubles into inspiration for his new album, "Almas Trasparentes," which dropped back in March. He has stated in a past interview:

"This album is dedicated to the relationship that had, at the end of RBD, and this decade, it was very difficult. It's been 10 years flying."

The Mexican pop singer, who is currently promoting his album in Colombia, definitely hopes to channel the popularity that RBD had, especially in it's final months. He shares via his Twitter page:

"La fuerza de rbd esta en sus fans y lo que nos mantendra sera la misma union de los club de fans sin odios, sin comparar unidos venceremos."

United fans will win! Christian fanáticos aren't shy about showing the amor right back:

Team Blogamole is melting, and it's not just from the sweltering heat: Ricky Martin is on the cover of People En Español's Father’s Day issue and it's the most adorable thing we've seen all week!

Ricky Martin

According to Guanabee, the magazine used an old (but still cute) photo of Ricky and his twins, perhaps to capitalize on the sensation surrounding the pop star's recent disclosure about his sexuality.

The firs time Ricky Martin posed with his twins for a magazine was in 2008, but this cover will be the first time he has done so as an openly gay man. The new issue hit newsstands this week, despite the fact that father's day is still weeks away in the United States, Puerto Rico and several other Latin countries.

In any case, props to Armando Correa, the current editor of People en Español and an openly gay man and father of two children. We can't get enough of Ricky's adorable family photos.
