'Machete' Trilogy Is In The Works

Danny Trejo fans got a double dose of good news this week. Not only will Rihanna's new BFF be returning to the big screen in Machete 2, he's gearing up for Machete 3 too!

Trejo's action epic became a huge cult hit back in 2010. Written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, Machete inspired toys, Brisk ads, and tons of quotable lines for movie fans. And we're sure there will be a lot more where that came from when the sequels get underway.

According to Deadline.com, part 2 (also known as Machete Kills) will feature our hero deep in the heart of Mexico taking on a notorious cartel leader. The site also shared tidbits about an outer space subplot that could take things in a new sci-fi direction.

It all sounds very exciting to us, especially if they can get the original cast to reunite. Perhaps another love scene with Jessica Alba? Or more "bad daughter" moments with Lindsay Lohan? We're keeping our fingers crossed!
