Genesis Rodriguez Opens Up About Her Hollywood Breakthrough

Remember the name Genesis Rodriguez, you're going to be hearing it a lot in the next few months. The Venezuelan-American beauty is primed for a big Hollywood breakthrough with roles in the upcoming films Man On A Ledge and Casa De Mi Padre.

Born in Miami, Genesis is the daughter of the famous Venezuelan crooner José Luis Rodríguez "El Puma". She got her start on a number of Spanish novelas, including Prisonera and Dame Chocolate. And though that life seemed comfortable, she took a chance on moving Hollywood, which seems to be paying off.

"I was working for about six years in Spanish soap operas," she recently said. "I started working at 15 turning 16 and I moved here about two years and I came out thinking I was gonna serve people breakfast and say one line and be "Girl Number 2". But, that didn't happen, thank God. I'm blessed that I got a start with my Spanish audience and I hope they like the transition."

Judging by the sexy outfits she's sporting in both her new movies, we think they'll like the transition. But Rodriguez is showing some real acting prowess too, playing a sensitive-yet-tough burglar in this week's Ledge release.

Hopefully it'll only be the beginning of a very bright future to come!
