Sherlock Holmes' Star Noomi Rapace Dishes On Her Spanish Roots

Sure she may be a big celeb in Sweden, but did you know that Noomi Rapace is part Latina? The 31-year-old actress is about to make a huge splash with her role in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and she recently told reporters that her Spanish roots helped her prepare for the part.

"My father was a flamenco dancer in Spain so I think my doing this was meant to be," she said when referring to her Sherlock character, Simza.

Rapace does actually share a sexy dancing scene with Jude Law in the movie and may even turn into a love interest for Sherlock (no spoilers here). But that's not Noomi's biggest claim to fame. International fans know her for her work in the original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo films.

Though Rapace won't be in the Americanized Girl remake (her part was taken over by Rooney Mara), she still has plenty of big Hollywood films on the horizon. Beyond Holmes, you can catch her in the highly anticipated 2012 thriller, Prometheus.
