Poor Alec Baldwin. First his Schweddy Balls are under attack, and now his travel plans have been thwarted. He just can't seem to get a break.
Alec Baldwin refused to turn off his cell phone on an American Airlines flight, so he got kicked off the plane.
"Baldwin was playing the popular Scrabble-like game 'Words with Friends' while waiting for the plane to take off. When he refused to turn off his phone, American Airlines left him at the gate."
Ouch! So much for holiday cheer from the airline industry. At the gate, Baldwin tweeted,
"Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS WITH FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt"
Way to fight back, Alec! Take your battle to the Twitterverse. Now everyone will know what you've done. Alec wasn't the only person who noted his faux pas, however. Others also tweeted about the incident, and it naturally spread like wildfire.
Even media executive Michael J. Wolf tweeted,
"On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane. We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait."
This is all that Alec Baldwin's spokesperson, Matthew Hiltzik, had to say:
"He loves 'Words with Friends' so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it."
Other passengers also noted that Baldwin was actually talking on the phone, not just playing the game. A member of the flight crew also said he was removed because he became violent and aggressive towards the airline staff.
Menawhile, Baldwin continued his Twitter battle with American Airlines by using the hashtag #theresalwaysunited, every time he tweeted, in hopes of making a point. He also tweeted,
"United Airlines should buy Words with Friends."
Luckily, his retaliation seems harmless enough. I can only imagine the aftermath if this had happened to Mel Gibson or Charlie Sheen.
Do you think Alec Baldwin was kicked off the plane for just playing a game, or do you think he made a scene?
