It wasn't your typical morning at the United Nations in New York City this past Monday. Calle 13 along side UNICEF, MTV Latin America and Tr3s hosted a conference announcing the official launch of the MTV Exit campaign. "The campaign is about freedom and human rights," stated Bernt Aasen from UNICEF. The goal of this movement is to shed light on the issue of human trafficking and exploitation in Latin America, as well as provide outreach to the victims of this modern day slavery.
Every year at least 550,000 children and adolescents become victims of trafficking and exploitation in Latin America and the Caribbean; stealing away their youth, hopes, dreams and lives. They are forced into exploitative labor, engage in drug use and unsafe sexual practices; amplifying the spread of HIV within the Latin America population.
The nineteen-time Latin Grammy winning duo hosts the documentary, "Esclavos Invisibles/Invisible Slaves," detailing the realities of this issue. Calle 13 has also donated their song "Prepárame la Cena/Prepare my Dinner," off of their 2011 Latin Grammy winning album of the year, 'Entren los Que Quieran'.
"This song is about hope, prepare my dinner, I will be home soon," stated Residente.
The documentary will be extended to 58 million households throughout Latin America and the U.S. as well as an infinite amount through online websites and social media. No corner will be left unturned as the documentary will also be distributed amongst churches, shelters and community centers throughout Latin America and the U.S. to help relay this message to those who do not have access to television or internet.
In the United States alone 17,000 people are trafficked and exploited every year. If this is happening in our own backyard imagine when magnified on a global level.
"To be an activist you don't need money, all you need is will. You too can get involved and spread the message," said Residente.
Join in the efforts and help spread awareness on this issue in hopes of one day finally ending, once and for all, this modern day slavery. Visit www.mtvexit.org/la for more information.

Ever since she took the stage in that revealing dress at the AMA's, Christina Aguilera has been plagued with pregnancy rumors. Yes she looked curvier than normal, but could the Burlesque beauty really be expecting?
Absolutely not a source close to her told Radar Online. Xtina's unnamed ally has vehemently denied the baby rumors, even going so far as to call her a "proud curvy Latina!"
"She is 100% NOT pregnant!" the source said. "She wore a tight fitting dress and that's all. Christina loves her curves. She's a Latina woman with curves and since when is it not ok to have curves?"
Radar’s tipster even called Aguilera a "role model" for full-figured Latinas. While we're not so sure about that statement, we are happy to know that Xtina isn't expecting just yet. Because we'd hate to have her take a maternity leave and miss out on The Voice season 2!

Something tells us Matt Damon won't be appearing in any PETA ads in the near future. The Contagion star recently smiled for the paparazzi at a gritty bullfight in Mexico's La Monumental stadium.
It's a little unclear what Matt was doing ringside for the toro festival (neither his Latina wife nor his famous friends were spotted with him). Could he have been researching an upcoming matador role? Damon was certainly not talking to the press and even appeared to be incognito, dressed in a dark jacket and baseball hat.
Though bullfights have been a Latin American tradition for centuries, many animal rights groups have criticized the sport, calling it inhumane. In fact, Matt may already be experiencing a bit of backlash for his appearance (and apparent cheering) at the event.
According to The Daily Mail, Damon was just killing time on a day off from shooting his new movie Elysium. Perhaps if he wanted to avoid the bad press, he should've spent the afternoon hanging out with Diego Luna instead.

Some people find it disgusting, others like to joke about it, but one thing's for sure; if the premise of your TV show has been turned into a porn movie, you’ll most certainly be grabbing headlines! This week, Latin Gossip published the first shots from El Gordo y La Flaca’s XXX parody.
To be honest, the lookalikes they've chosen for Lili Estefan and Raul De Molina are pretty spot on. Everything from Gordo's trademark grey suit to Flaca's flowing blonde hair have been simulated perfectly. Even the set looks identical to what you might see on Univision.
But this movie is geared directly towards the "adult" audience. Believe it or not, porn parodies have proven to be quite successful in recent years. Classic shows like The Brady Bunch, Seinfeld, and 30 Rock have all gotten the XXX treatment.
El Gordo y La Flaca leaves quite a bit to the imagination too. With their constant array of celebrity guests and sidekicks, who knows what other famous dopplegangers the sexy filmmakers may add in to the mix!

It looks like Shakira has "officially" been embraced by her boyfriend's padres. Gerard Piqué's mom and dad happily posed with Shaki during a recent a press event and seemed more than eager to accept her as part of their family.
"We love you as much as we love Gerard," Piqué's dad Joan told her in front of the paparazzi cameras.
In case you're wondering why the Piqué family made such a public appearance, it's because Joan is actually a celebrated author. His new book, Two Lives, was just released in Spain and the entire family (including Shaki) stood beside him on the first stop of his promotional tour.
Two Lives is actually a stirring fiction novel, which Joan hopes to publish internationally. The proud dad made a point to thank his soccer-playing son for inspiration during the writing process. And perhaps if Lives ever makes it to the big screen, he can thank Gerard's galpal for a soundtrack contribution.

Last night I attended the American Music Awards and they completely surpassed my expectations. With performances by Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Katy Perry you can always expect a new level amazing-ness but of course nothing topped my girl Jennifer Lopez.
When Jennifer Lopez first came out and began to sing her ballad she made the audience believe her performance was going to be an emotional roller coaster...sike!
After stripping into a nude Britney Spears inspired outfit she sang "Papi" which I thought it was very clever of her to have the Fiat on stage, which was a Benny Medina move for sure. Genius! Once the "On the Floor" beat hit you knew Pitbull would join her and bring all of Nokia Theater to their feet. I honestly thought she ended performing until I saw her again rockin' the side ponytail during her performance with Will.i.am for his new song "THE."
To wrap things up, she won the Favorite Latin Artist Award. Her only downfall was her broken Spanish during her acceptance speech, I'm sure her nerves got the best of her bilingual skills. So happy for Jennifer Lopez she is such an inspiration!
P.S. I did hit the official LMFAO American Music Awards party after the show and let's just say I can't hang with those guys the way I use too. The Party Rock crew’s champagne showers are definitely something you need to experience! Shout out to LMFAO and their team for major moves in the music industry, so proud of them!

We're sure it would cause a concert promoter a lot of stress to have an artist bail on them at the last second. But would it be enough to make you bleed from your eyeballs? That's what one Argentine music mogul is claiming, after Daddy Yankee pulled out of his 10-show tour.
According to TMZ, Diego Hernan de Iraola is suing DY for $820,000 after an unplanned contract breach. Iraola allegedly signed Yankee for multiple shows in Argentina, which wound up getting cancelled just two days before the start date.
Diego claims that DY's no-show caused him so much stress, his eyes began to bleed. Not surprisingly, he's also going after Yankee for a ton of personal damages.
So far El Big Boss is staying quiet on the matter, but we imagine he'll have his own side of the story to share soon. Perhaps he can even make amends, by giving Iraola a free pair of Yankee sunglasses to hide his bleeding eyes.

This weekend, music fans were treated to another memorable awards show with the 2011 AMAs. Outside of some lively performances from Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, and Enrique Iglesias, the event featured big wins for Taylor Swift and a JLo outfit that got the gossip blogs buzzing.
Swift probably received the most attention of the night, taking home Artist of the Year, Country Female Artist, and Country Album. Fresh off her CMA sweep, Taylor seemed to be quite overwhelmed by her monster victory.
"I want to thank my band and my crew and the fans for filling up stadiums," said an emotional Swift from the stage. "And my mom and my dad and my brother who came with me tonight, and my fans who continue to amaze me."
Adele didn't do too bad either, earning the night’' Adult Contemporary Artist award as well as Pop/Rock Female Artist. Nicki Minaj (who delivered an incredible live rendition of "Turn Me On" with David Guetta) scored two AMAs herself, for Rap/Hip-Hop Album and Rap/Hip-Hop Artist.
And the AMAs made sure to honor a few Latinos too. Bruno Mars won for Pop/Rock Male Artist and JLo got the Latin Music Artist trophy. Lopez, in particular, attracted a ton of coverage for her revealing bodysuit. At 42-years-old, she flaunted a near perfect body during her performance of "Papi."
Jennifer did get a little bit of heat from the critics though, for bringing out a Fiat car during her live set. Many felt that the move was a blatant form of advertising (Lopez is currently a Fiat spokesperson) and thought it cheapened her performance.
And though they didn't take home awards, Tr3s faves Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull and Christina Aguilera made their presence known too. Enrique was backed up by a full-blown marching band for a lively rendition of "I Like How It Feels." Pit joined JLo for her second song of the night, "On The Floor," and Xtina and Adam Levine rocked the house with their hit duet "Moves Like Jagger."
Other highlights included tributes to Heavy D, a Justin Bieber/David Hasselhoff appearance, and will.i.am debuting his new track, "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)." But as lively as it was, the 2011 AMAs failed to make a major dent with viewers. Last night's show scored a dismal 1.3/3 ratings share, marking an all-time American Music Award low.

Scartlett Johansson's directorial debut, an adaptation of Truman Capote's long-lost novella Summer Crossing, is officially in the works!
This past weekend, Variety announced that Johansson's project was picked up by producers Barry Spikings (The Deer Hunter) and Peter D. Graves (Braveheart), in conjuction with the Truman Capote Literary Trust. Playwright Tristine Skyler (Getting to Know You, The Bell Jar) will be doing the script adaptation of the manuscript.
Summer Crossing is the story of Grady, a wealthy 17-year old socialite girl breaking free of her rich, smothering family to discover her own identity and sexuality. When her self-destructive efforts to break through the boredom of her sheltered life lead her down the aisle of a seedy New Jersey church at 2 a.m., her life changes in unpredictable and irreparable ways.
Summer Crossing is a significant work for Capote fans. As a young writer for The New Yorker in 1943, Capote was inspired by his big city surroundings and set his novella-in-progress in Manhattan. It was lost for half a century before it was recovered and published; the New York Public Library bought the manuscript at auction in 2004.
Johansson directed the 2009 short These Vagabond Shoes. Let's hope that the 'Movie Gods' are in her favor, because it would be nice to see this beautiful and talented actress succeed when she puts the director's hat on!
Are you a fan of Capote or Johansson? Will you go see Summer Crossing?
