We knew it would only be a matter of time before George Lopez popped up on the small screen again. And just two months after his Lopez Tonight show went off the air, G. Lo is plotting a comeback. According to reports, the comic is working on a brand new TV sitcom.
George told the Associated Press that he was very excited about the project and currently developing it with a team of writers. He also spoke out about the Lopez Tonight cancellation, saying he was "heartbroken" that TBS pulled the plug.
In addition to the sitcom, Lopez announced plans for an all-new HBO Comedy Special. Add to that film projects like The Smurfs 2 and the Carnival Cruise Lines gig and you've got a whole lotta Lopez lined up for the next year.
Of course, we're most curious about the new series. So far very few details have been released about the premise, other than the fact that he'll have a sexy new wife. We're thinking, with the end of Desperate Housewives on the horizon, why not cast best buddy Eva Longoria as the new sitcom Mrs.?
Are you looking forward to George's new show? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.
