Will Smith To Produce New Romeo Santos Sitcom

Are you ready for The Fresh Romeo of Bel-Air? It looks like former TV star Will Smith is now passing down the torch to Romeo Santos, by signing on as a producer of his new untitled sitcom.

Reportedly pitched to ABC, Romeo's show will feature the singer in a starring role about a New York Dominican family. Santos would be playing a modern single guy trying to please his harsh immigrant father.

Though Romeo didn't write the pilot, it is said that it is based on his own experiences with his traditional dad. The creators of the 2008 FOX sitcom Unhitched are reportedly overseeing the jokes and tone of the show.

It all sounds very interesting to us and it's proof positive that Santos is on the fast track to success. We've just got to wonder how his old Aventura bandmates are feeling about it. Perhaps Romeo can share the love by giving them bit parts as wacky neighbors on the show.
