You've got to hand it to NBC, they definitely know how to cross-promote! The peacock network is hoping to boost rating for its new series The Playboy Club by adding a Voice alum to the show's sixth episode.
And we're not talking about any run-of-the-mill contestant. Execs have booked season one champ Javier Colon for a prominent role on the 60's era drama. Colon will be playing music legend Ray Charles and singing the classic standard, "Let the Good Times Roll."
Javier has already spread the word to his 97,000 Twitter followers and we're seriously hoping his version of "Roll" ends up on iTunes. Plus, it looks like the Playboy retro music trend won't be ending there. Pop singer Colbie Caillat has been booked to play music legend Lesley Gore and Rafael Saadiq will be appearing as Sam Cooke.
Now of course if we had our pick, the Playboy musical re-imaginings would include some Latino icons too. Perhaps Bruno Mars as a young Ritchie Valens? Or maybe Gloria Estefan as a swinging 60's version of Celia Cruz!
Who are your favorite musical artists from the 1960's? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.
