Why Was Antonio Banderas Afraid Of Dating Madonna?

Ever seen Madonna's 1991 documentary Truth Or Dare? If so, you may remember a scene where she professed her wild attraction to Antonio Banderas. And though they would eventually work together in Evita, you've got to wonder if an early 90's hookup ever took place. Banderas has now spoken out on the issue and officially denied ever being Madge’s "boy toy."

"I was afraid of it at the time, because she was a very powerful woman," Antonio confessed to Harper’s Bazaar. "I didn't want to be Madonna's boy. For good or for bad, I just wanted to have my own career."

Banderas also happened to be married when Madonna allegedly pursued him. He has gone on the record numerous times declaring that "nothing happened," but some have wondered otherwise.

Antonio went on to say that dating would have been nearly impossible because he barely spoke English at the time that they met.

"I couldn't speak English at the time [I met her]," Banderas declared. "She said a lot of things at the table when we were having dinner I couldn't understand."

Even though she couldn't nab Antonio, Madonna clearly didn't give up on her Hispanic fix. A few short years after Truth or Dare, the material girl shacked up with Cuban hunk Carlos Leon and had a little Latina of her own.
