After weeks of negotiations, Jennifer Lopez finally accepted to continue on American Idol for a whopping $20 million for at least one more season. But her fellow judge Steven Tyler must have said, "Hey, What about me?"
The 63 year-old Aerosmith frontman is locked on a 2 year contract with Idol for $10 million bucks, but his management is now asking for more money arguing that Tyler was just as sensational and as popular on the panel as Lopez, regardless of the deal.
Fox agreed to increase JLo's salary, and negotiations were centered around scheduling Jenny from the block's additional TV and Film commitments. But what about Tyler? Both judges entered as equals and should remain that way, don't you think?
The show producers are trying to compromise with Tyler because they agree he was a positive addition to the show's panel and they want to keep him happy because they love the freshness he has brought to the show.
Is it because JLo was named 'The Most Beautiful Woman of 2011' by People magazine that Fox was more willing to negotiate her raise? Tyler brought his own beauty to the show and gave it an "Umph" that was missing from previous seasons and should be treated equally as JLo. It's their combined chemistry that made this last season such a success, and that factor should be at the top of the list of things to consider!
Do you think Steven Tyler should get a raise just like JLo? Tell us what you think!
