Mexico's Miss World Contender Loses Her Crown Over 'Weight Issues'

Brace yourselves, there's another shocking scandal brewing in the professional beauty pageant world. This time out it pertains to Cynthia de la Vega, the Nuestra Belleza México winner who has been stripped of her crown due to "weight issues."

According to the statement released by pageant officials, Cynthia is getting the boot because she "failed to meet the expected goals of the crown" (whatever that means). But if you ask the gossip bloggers, terms like anorexia, bulimia, and even pregnancy may be the key to solving this mystery.

De la Vega's rep, Roberto Flores, was quick to clear up the eating disorder chisme, saying,

"Le están manifestando que existe una serie de faltas nutricionales, ya que aseguraban había aumentado de peso. Ya se le hicieron unos estudios en Monterrey por profesionales y se encuentra en excelentes condiciones físicas. Cynthia cumple con todas las especificaciones de los concursos internacionales".

We're sure we'll hear more details as the week progresses, both about Cynthia and her replacement. So far, the officials have been tight-lipped about the new Nuestra Belleza México. But they better pick her quick, the Miss World competition kicks off November 6!
