It looks like bachata's new "golden boy" has put his career on the fast track. Just a year after releasing his first record, Prince Royce has announced that he's recording a full-length English album, as well as an Español followup.
Even though it dropped back in March 2010, Prince Royce's debut is still #2 on Billboard's Latin Album charts. And since its release, the 22-year-old sensation made a very notable appearance on the Latin Grammys and booked a tour with Enrique Iglesias.
So recording for the American market is the next logical step. But don't think he'll be forgetting his Spanish roots. Royce was quick to point out that he wants to share his music with both audiences.
"We're starting two careers at the same time," Prince told a Spanish media outlet. "A lot of people know me for my 'Spanglish,' and now we're going to take it to another level and try to bring bachata to Americans."
Though he was still a bit secretive about his upcoming musical ideas, Royce did confirm that he's working with top producers and shooting for a Christmas release date. Sounds to us like a perfect bachata stocking stuffer.
