Poor Ninel Conde, she just can't seem to catch a break in the twitterverse. Whether it's mistakes about the death of Osama bin Laden or the tragedy surrounding Facundo Cabral, her social networking skills just can't escape ongoing chisme. With the case of Cabral, it's actually not Ninel's doing at all, but rather a joke from Mexican TV personality Facundo Gomez.
"@Ninelconde por las flores que mandaste a mi casa, pero yo no soy el que se murió," he wrote to the 40-year-old pop star.
Obviously a dig at Ninel's intelligence, he was insinuating that she did not know the difference between him and slain Argentine folk star Facundo Cabral. We'd definitely have to classify that tweet in the "too soon" category and in quite tasteless, considering the turmoil surrounding Cabral's death.
Conde was quick to fire back though, threatening to send her husband Juan Zepeda after the insensitive prankster.
"@facufacundo de que flores hablas niñito. Deja de hacerte el chistoso o te van a ir a saludar de parte de @juanzepeda2010, ya estuvo suave."
After seeing the negative reactions from Ninel and a large portion of his fanbase, Gomez retracted the statement and apologized for not only insulting Conde, but the memory of Cabral.
"@Ninelconde no pensé que te fueras a enojar, disculpa mi sentido del humor, dile a @juanzepeda2010 que lo espero con unas chelas," he wrote.
Do you think Facundo Gomez was out of line with his tweet? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.
