Two of the biggest names in hip hop can't converge on a joint LP without throngs of fans hitting the refresh button eagerly awaiting news, a leak, or the release date for the most anticipated album of the year.
Monday, Jay-Z and Kanye West fans weren't exactly treated to a release date for the duo's latest effort Watch The Throne, but the album did become available for pre-sale on Def Jam's website, with the ship date on receipts pointing to August 2nd.
The once rumored release date for Watch the Throne was initially July 4th, so those who were expecting fresh rhymes and beats along with their holiday BBQs and fireworks must have been considerably upset. However, Hov and Ye did attempt to pacify fans with the release of the cover art for the regal LP; a dramatic gold metallic design from Riccardo Tisci, who also provided the cover art for the rappers' single "H.A.M." Yippity?!!
Those who plan on participating in the pre-sale, can grab the deluxe CD for $16.99, while the standard CD goes for $13.99. The album is also available in MP3 versions; with the deluxe copy going for $14.99 and the standard digital album priced at $11.99.
Will you buy it? Let us know in the comments, or @MTV3.
