We've all heard the phrase "too soon" before. Undoubtedly when a tragic event happens, there will always be someone throwing out a jab or a tasteless joke to the Twitterverse. And in the case of Ryan Dunn's death, it was none other than film critic Roger Ebert who posted a controversial tweet.
"Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive," Roger wrote yesterday.
That of course, is in reference to the rumors that alcohol may have played a part in Dunn's fatal car crash. As of right now, there is no hard evidence to support that theory other than some twitpix that Ryan sent out the night of the accident.
Regardless, tons of Jackass fans and tweeters attacked Ebert for his harsh remarks. Bam Margera, a friend of Dunn's since high school posted,
"I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of sh*t roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents."
After the backlash, Roger did issue an apology via his website, saying his tweet was "not intended as cruel." He also went on to offer his condolences to the Dunn family.
Do you think Ebert's tweets were out of line? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.
