Is Lil Wayne the next Celine Dion? He's hoping! In an interview with MTV News, the New Orleans-bred emcee revealed that at age 40, he'd like nothing more than to headline a nightly Las Vegas show.
"I actually plan on being one of those artists that can go on a tour when they're like 40, like U2, Michael Jackson. With all the music and all the work I'm putting out, I believe that later on down the line, I can do Vegas. I can be the first hip-hop artist to do Vegas every night. That's the plan."
There's no question the 28-year-old rapper can amass a repertoire to carry a sin city show. With eight studio albums under his belt, Tha Carter IV on the way, and a bevy of mix tapes and lps with the Hot Boys and Birdman to boot, arguably Weezy could stop recording right now and hit the Vegas strip.
But given the longevity of a typical hip hop career, factoring out Jay-Z, will Wayne still be on fans most wanted list in five to ten years in order to pack a venue night after night?
