We all know about The Onion, that sarcastic faux-news site that loves poking fun at political leaders and events. Well now some Puerto Rican "journalists" are following suit, by launching their own Spanish parody site full of Shakira jokes, Dora The Explorer drama, and tons more.
Noticreo.com was created by writer and producer Harold Jessurun. Its goal is to simulate the biting political wit of the Emmy-winning Noticreo television series in a digital format.
"[Noticreo is a] media outlet where you can read amusing news, forget about everything, and laugh a little," Jessurun stated. "There is reality, but also the softer side of things, and humor is always good; it's the best medicine."
In addition to articles, the site features wacky videos spoofing the day's top stories. Everything from sports, to economics, to entertainment is lovingly skewered by the Noticreo staff. And let's be honest, who doesn't love a good Miley Cyrus Scarface story?
Harold seems very excited about the venture and is encouraging fans to contribute their own comedy bits via the site’s "Soy la Noticia" feature. There, followers can upload silly videos and Photoshopped pix.
Which news story cracked you up the most this year? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.
