Thalía's Mother Passes Away Unexpectedly

Sadly, it was announced that early this morning Thalía's mother, Yolanda Miranda, passed away at her home in Mexico City. Though the cause of death is not immediately known, reports are coming in that it was unexpected and shocked the entire family.

"Hoy hay muerto la mitad de mi alma...Siento que muero lentamente...Gracias por sus oraciones para mi guerrera, para mi madre", Thalía tweeted today.

It's clear that Thalía was all smiles as recently as last night, posting funny twitpix and thanking fans. Just looking at her tweets, it's safe to say that she was completely unaware of any health problems with her madre. The news actually broke on Facebook, courtesy of Yolanda's oldest daughter, Laura Guadalupe.

Posting on her Wall, she wrote,

"Pido una oración por el eterno descanso de mi madre la Sra. Yolanda Miranda Mange que esta manana se fue a encontrar con Dios. Buen viaje mamita y que Dios te acompañe."

We're sure this is an especially tough time for Thalía, especially since her newest little one will not be able to know its abuelita. Our hearts and prayers go out to her family.
