Teen and pregnancy, two different stages of your life, right? Well, not necessarily. These two words together, teen pregnancy, make a world’s difference. In the US, 3 in 10 girls get pregnant at least once by the time they reach 20. Among Latinas, its even greater, with 52% of Latinas getting pregnant as teens – that’s more than half the Latina teen population! The good news is that teen pregnancy is 100% preventable and the best time to think about how you’d handle a risky situation is before it actually happens. Will you say no? If so, how will you say it? And if you do choose to go all the way, how will you protect yourself and your future?
National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is today and as a celebratory gift Tr3s has a never-before-seen clip of Quiero Mis Quinces, Season 6, featuring Jiselle, for you to watch. Remember Jiselle, the Mexican-American teen mom, who became pregnant with her daughter, Elena, at 14 and after two years was able to plan her quinceañera? In this exclusive clip, Jiselle, a member of the Blossom Project, reveals a part of her past that had led her to where she is today. Watch the clip after the jump, then visit http://www.StayTeen.org to find out what zombies and preventing teen pregnancy really do have in common.
Don't miss our special National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy programming, including episodes of 16 and Pregnant from 11am-2pm and then from 5-8pm and Jiselle's episode of Quiero Mis Quinces at 1:30pm.
