Rebecca Black Shares Her Love Of Selena Gomez

Is it necessarily a good thing for “Friday” singer Rebecca Black to list you as an inspiration? Seeing the outpouring of negative chisme and musical criticism the 13-year-old YouTube star has been getting, we’re not so sure. But, on the other hand, if the praise is for Selena Gomez then it can give fans hope that Rebecca’s working on steering her talents in a positive direction.

Selena and her band The Scene have put out some great poppy tracks within the past three years. And if that’s what Black has in her earbuds at the moment, there may be still be hope for her musical career. Not coincidentally, Rebecca also seems to have a soft spot Gomez’ new boyfriend.

“I love Justin Bieber!” Black told E! News.

And interestingly, it’s Selena’s lifestyle that seems to have impressed Rebecca the most.

“I love Selena Gomez,” she explained. “She’s been in the industry since she was so young. She hasn’t gotten caught up in all of the rehab or drugs or whatever.”

While that is definitely true, a comment like that did create some buzz in the twitterverse. Many thought Rebecca may have thrown in an undercover slight to Gomez’ troubled BFF Demi Lovato, who’s battled some recent rehab issues herself.

“To all that think I made fun of @ddlovato..I never did and never will.” Black tweeted in response.

Hopefully that’s true, because the last thing Rebecca needs now is even more online “Friday” haters.
