In all the WTF news of the day, it seems our favorite Kardashian's new smash hit reality show Khloe and Lamar did not defeat her sisters' latest attempt to Take New York. When the final numbers came in, Khlomar drew 2.6 million viewers Sunday night (April 10) for E! while Kourtney and Kim managed to earn a record 3 million when their show debuted earlier this year.
In spite of that, Mrs. Kardashian-Odom's premiere episode was by far more entertaining, inciting numerous bouts of laughter, and more importantly, seemed to have a storyline with depth.
We see Khloe and her new husband tackle the every day struggles of being newlyweds, at times in a long distance relationship, dealing with fame and family, facing fertility issues, and also adapting to life with their live-in-roommate, Khloe's brother and Lamar's new BFF Rob Kardashian. Other than the couple's egregious displays of PDA , Khloe and Lamar was a win with fans and is a strong staple in E!'s Sunday night line-up.
Yes, Kim Kardashian is a sexy vixen that every girl wouldn't mind looking like and every guy wouldn't mind getting with, but the 40 minute premiere of KKTNY was lackluster at best, and the season didn't get much better. To think that Ms. Kimmy Cakes could helm a half-hour show when she could barely manage a 30 second Sketchers Shape Up or Carl's Jr commercial is wishful storyline-thinking on behalf of the fashion network.
While we're sure KKTNY did fine ratings-wise, sex sells after all. The show chronicling the sister's journey to open their third Dash store in NYC seemed a bit calculated, and couldn't live up to Kourtney and Khloe's Miami cycle.
Of course, only time will tell whether the 3rd Keeping Up With The Kardashians spin-off will prove to be a reality show win, but if the premiere is any indication, it looks like Khloe and Lamar will not only be ratings royalty, but a treat for fans who need their Kardashian fix, after having suffered through KKTNY for the past 4 months.
What did you think of Khloe and Lamar's premiere episode? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.
