Penelope Cruz May Be Warring with Eva Longoria

If the tabloids are correct, there’s a war brewing between actresses Penelope Cruz and Eva Longoria. At this point, it’s common knowledge that the Desperate Housewives star has been hooking up with Penelope’s younger bro, but could there be some devious reasons behind the romance?

According to the National Enquirer, Penelope believes Eva is dating her brother Eduardo as a way to muscle into the well-respected Cruz clan. There’s no denying that Penelope and her husband Javier Bardem have some major clout in Hollywood. She’s about to be featured in one the summer’s biggest blockbusters and he’s an ongoing darling of the Academy Awards.

So could there be some truth behind the claim that Eva wants a piece of that action? Still a very respected actress in her own right, Longoria earned a Golden Globe nod for her work on Housewives but hasn’t quite broken into the mainstream movie world yet.

As the Enquirer’s source puts it, “Penelope believes Eva is nothing more than a fame-hungry, bad B-list actress who is using Eduardo in an effort to further her career."

Truth be told, the one person who has gained the most fame out of this new affair is Eduardo. Before hooking up with Eva, he was more or less an unknown among the masses. So the question is, could he be using Longoria as a way to boost his image too?
