Debi Nova Brings Latin Flair to Old Navy Ads

Have you seen the new Old Navy commercials yet? Looking more like a music video than a spot for selling clothes, it’s got bouncy beats, flashy dancers and a Kim Kardashian lookalike. But that’s only part of the campaign. The fashion brand also hired Latin pop star Debi Nova to appear in Spanish versions of the same promo.

Dubbed “super estrella” (as opposed to the “super cute” English version), the commercial is practically a shot-for-shot remake of the original. There’s scenes of Debi smiling in the dentist’s chair, turning heads at the supermarket and dancing on top of classic cars.

The high-profile spot is boosting the Costa Rican songstress' star power. In the past year, Nova has sung on Dancing with the Stars, scored a Top 5 single on the Hot Dance charts and released her critically-acclaimed Luna Neuva album.

And the increased attention seems to be giving Debi a lot to smile about. While shooting the Old Navy commercial, she tweeted a very happy twitpic to her thousands of loyal followers.
