Barcelona Fútbol Star Gerard Pique Lands Modeling Gig

It’s getting harder and harder for Shakira to shake those rumors that she’s got a boyfriend. Since her recent split from longtime love Antonio de la Rua, gossip sites have zeroed in on an alleged hookup with Barcelona fútbol player Gerard Piqué. And though he’s denied the affair, Gerard hasn’t completely turned away from all the newfound attention. Fox News Latino is reporting that he is now the new face of Mango clothing line.

Barcelona-based Mango has been attracting high-profile talent. Penelope Cruz and her sister Monica have created original fashion designs for the brand, and past models have included such film stars as Scarlett Johansson.

Gerard would be modeling for Mango's HE line, which includes jackets, polo shirts and jeans designed with a trendy Spanish flair. In an official statement, Mango described Piqué as the brand's target audience, namely men with personality and a unique style all their own.

Perhaps they forgot to add "men who also happen to have superstar girlfriends." Within the past few weeks, more evidence has surfaced linking Gerard with Shakira. For one thing, they were recently photographed holding hands in public, and Latin Gossip is reporting that Shaki’s setting up permanent residence in Barcelona.
