There always seems to be some news stirring about pop icon Madonna and her teenage daughter Lourdes. But what about her father, Carlos Leon? After his brief courtship with the Material Girl in the 1990s, the Cuban-American actor dropped out of the limelight. Now he’s back with a new film and new thoughts on fatherhood.
“My daughter is everything to me,” Carlos confessed to People. “I’m a lenient dad. I’m very empathetic and I’m good at listening to my daughter…I’m probably a bad dad when it comes to disciplining her.”
The spunky 14-year-old fashionista, who attends LaGuardia High School, an exclusive high school for the performing arts in New York City, already launched a successful Macy’s clothing line with her famous mom.
“Sometimes she will give me a hard time about my clothes,” Carlos confessed. “I wore a pair of jeans once, and they weren’t as skinny as I usually wear them, and she was like, ‘Oh my God, Dad, those pants are ugly. Please change your pants.'”
She may have a point, especially since Leon has been making more red carpet appearances these days. His newest film, Immigration Tango, was released last week, and he’s nabbed several TV parts, including a guest spot on the show White Collar.
As far as his thoughts on the Madge are concerned, Carlos said,
“I'm forever grateful to [Madonna]. I have no regrets. I wouldn't change anything. I got the best thing out of that relationship, and that's my daughter.”
Do you think Carlos and Madonna made a cute couple? Sound off in the comments or @MTV3.
