Actors often say it’s more fun to play the bad guy than the hero, and Brazilian-born actress Morena Baccarin couldn’t agree more. She’s back on the small screen this month for season two of ABC’s V and ready to deliver even more otherworldly turmoil.
“Everyone knows that Anna is an alien, so that element of weird is already there," Morena said about her character, the conniving high commander of the evil Visitors. "I try to make her as human as possible and I find that’s actually scary.”
Baccarin received quite a bit of praise for her work on the series, garnering a Best Supporting Actress nomination from the 2009 Saturn Awards. This Julliard-trained thespian is no stranger to sci-fi. She was a regular on Joss Whedon’s cult series Firefly and appeared in multiple episodes of Stargate SG-1. And with her short, cropped hair and gorgeous eyes, you can bet she's a hit at Comic-Con conventions.
So what can fans expect on the upcoming V episodes?
“By the second episode, you’ll see a full lizard body — not mine,” Morena said, “but you will see some weird Anna body parts, otherworldly things.”
