Oh, the dangers of technology. Adult video game company ThriXXX has found a new use for Xbox 360's revolutionary Kinect technology and, frankly, it's a little creepy.
Yes, the same device that enables families to dance like Michael Jackson now enables perverts to play 3D interactive sex games on their personal computers. A demonstration video of the still-untitled ThriXXX game for adults ages 18 and older shows how users can undress and fondle virtual women by waving their hands in front of the screen.
Microsoft, the manufacturer of Xbox, has taken a strong stance against anyone who designs adult-oriented games for the controller-free system.
“This isn't the first example of a technology being used in ways not intended by its manufacturer, and it won't be the last," the company said in a statement on its website. "Microsoft did not authorize or license its technology for this use and will take appropriate action against violations of its intellectual property. Xbox is a family-friendly game and entertainment console and does not allow Adults Only (AO) content to be certified for use on its platform and would not condone this type of game for Kinect."
Considering that most gamers tend to be kids, we agree with Microsoft on this one. We would hate for all those impressionable minds to be corrupted by content they’re too young to handle. And we don't even want to think about what others may be doing with it.
