Girl power and honor were on full display Sunday at the premiere of VH1's third annual Divas Live event, 2010 Divas Salute the Troops. This year, VH1 dedicated the all-female concert to our troops fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. The show, presented by the USO, featured female artists from all genres and one of our favorite femcees, comedian Kathy Griffin.
Artists from nearly every musical genre wowed troops and viewers with a wide range of musical performances from such entertainers as alternative rock band Paramore, R&B artist Keri Hilson, pop singer Katy Perry, female rapper Nicki Minaj and country bands Sugarland and Grace Potter and The Nocturnals. In between performances, VH1 aired pre-recorded interviews with troops serving on the front lines that had just about everyone in tears.
As if that weren't entertaining enough, the hilarious red-headed host brought out a number of special guests throughout the evening, including Brandy, MC Lyte and Jersey Shore's Snookie and The Situation.
In case you missed it, here's a glimpse of Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj performing Cyndi Lauper's classic chick anthem, "Girls Just Want To Have Fun."
Want to get in on the action? You too can salute the troops by sharing a photo on VH1's Facebook page. For every photo shared, VH1 will donate $1 to the USO's Operation Enduring Care. So far, more than 8,431 photos have been shared. What are you waiting for? Get clickin'.
What was your favorite performance? Tell us below or @MTV3.
