It seems like for the past four months, everywhere you go you hear that catchy “Dynamite” song. On the radio, in the clubs, even on Kidz Bop records…And now Taio Cruz’ smash hit has made it all the way to The Today Show, with all four anchors chiming in for a viral a capella version.

Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Ann Curry, and Al Roker all broke out the harmonies for a very unique version of the song. With a little help from YouTube a capella sensation, Mike Tompkins, the gang was able to recreate every last “Dynamite” beat using nothing but vocals.
For those unfamiliar with Mike’s work, he’s attracted millions of viral video fans with his “voice-only” interpretations of songs like “Teenage Dream” and “Just The Way You Are.” He’s even covered Taio before and seems very well qualified to conduct the Today Show crew.
No, Meredith and the gang didn’t recreate the motorcycles and half-naked girls in the original video, but they did film themselves dancing and making faces for the screen. So far their version of “Dynamite” is actually a pretty big hit, gathering over 23,000 YouTube views. Will it catch up to the 48 million clicks Taio’s got for the original song? You never know…
