Latina Supermodels Dominate Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

They say that Latinas are some of the most beautiful women in the world and it looks like Victoria’s Secret agrees. For their 2010 Fashion Show, the famous lingerie line has hired five South American supermodels to strut down their famous runway.

Hosted by Katy Perry and Akon, this year’s event is expected to generate tons of hype (and tons of skimpy outfits). And even though it won’t air for another two weeks, we thought it’d be best to give you a refresher course on the Latina models making their way down the catwalk.

Flavia de Oliveira – Already a veteran of four Victoria’s Secret shows, this Brazilian beauty has been hyped as the next Gisele. Standing a 5 ft 9 inches tall and sporting dazzling green eyes, she’s appeared in ads for Dolce & Gabana and Dior.

Alessandra Ambrosio – Tyra Banks once described her as “the future of the modeling world,” and we think she may be right! Alessandra’s already broken into the mainstream with her gorgeous smile and golden skin. Most recently she’s guest starred on Entourage and How I Met Your Mother.

Izabel Goulart – Also hailing from Brazil, Izabel is one of the youngest Latinas participating in the show. Tall and thin, she’s modeled for Oscar de la Renta and is expected to headline the next Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Not only that, she does tons of charitable work too!

Emanuela de Paula – Brazilian Emanuela (are we sensing a trend here?) is only 21 years-old, but has tons of modeling experience behind her. Her unique mix of White and Afro-Brazilian ancestry has attracted J. Lo and Ralph Lauren for their campaigns. She’s also one of the highest paid covergirls of the moment, raking in a cool $2.5 million last year.

Adriana Lima – Who isn’t aware of Adriana Lima? Victoria’s Secret is pushing her as one of their big headliners this year and it’s easy to see why. She was Maybelline’s main spokesmodel for six straight years, a constant Vogue covergirl, and in-demand actress. You all remember her Ugly Betty appearance, right?
