Ok, we have to admit that we’re a little disappointed that our favorite Latino stars didn’t take home any big MTV Europe Awards. Selena Gomez and Enrique both lost to Justin Bieber and Shakira didn’t have a chance against Lady Gaga who took home three springy statuettes, the most of any artist that night!
But no one seemed too disappointed. The Madrid event brought out tons of smiling faces, including newlyweds Katy Perry and Russell Brand, who showed off their bling blings to the press. Other purple carpet standouts included Rihanna (in a hot ruffled gown) and Snooki’s ruby red top!

Then there was the main Latina of the night, Eva Longoria, who mixed just the right amount of humor and class with her MC duties. Coming out on stage in her “ham dress” was a perfect way to lighten the mood and poke a little good-natured fun at one of Gaga’s wilder outfits.
Speaking of our favorite Little Monster, she unfortunately missed the festivities (and the chance to “ham” it up with Eva) due to concert obligations in Budapest, Hungary. But she did send her regards for her triple victory (Best Female, Best Song, Best Pop), by saying via satellite,
"This means so much to me. Europe I love you!"
Gaga wasn’t the only one lighting the web on fire with her quotes. Selena Gomez, who almost nabbed the Best Push EMA, Tweeted about her exciting Euro trip to over 3.2 million Follwers.
“I love you guys! Getting ready for the show... THEN tomorrow I get to see my 'Monte Carlo' cast mates
Yayyyyy!”
Other big winners included Eminem for Best Hip-Hop, Ke$ha for Best New Act, and Bon Jovi for Global Icon. And even though she didn’t win the Best Female prize, Shakira still brought the house down with her live “Loca” performance and took home a special Free Your Mind Award for her humanitarian work.
Overall it was quite an incredible night, and if you think the awards season is slowing, think again! We’ve got the Latin Grammys coming up in Vegas this Thursday (November 11)!
