OMG: Did Demi Lovato Punch Out Her Backup Dancer?

Ever since Demi Lovato checked herself into a treatment center for “emotional and physical issues”, the gossip blogs have been on fire. Rumors ranging from self-mutilation, to drugs, to exhaustion have been all over the web. But one theory that’s getting a lot of traction says that Lovato’s temper may be to blame and that she punched out one of her backup dancers!

TMZ is reporting that Alex Welch, an alum from MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, received the blow. Welch had been on tour with Demi and the Jonas Brothers and the incident was said to have been fueled by a massive backstage catfight.

Now sporting a black eye, Welch is supposedly prepping legal action against the Camp Rock star. But what would make Demi explode and attack her? According to yet another site, it’s because Alex “ratted” on Lovato for partying when we she wasn’t supposed to.

It all seems very bizarre to Demi’s fanbase. Followers know that Lovato is a major anti-bullying advocate who has preached heavily against violence. Could she have snapped and attacked someone herself? Looks like we’ll have to wait until the “official” black eye photos get released to find out.
