Chisme Alert: Christina Aguilera Splits From Hubby Jordan Bratman

Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman are the latest couple to call it quits this week. However, while the news was announced just on Tuesday (October 12), multiple reports are speculating just how long la pareja have been estranged.

A source close to the couple told People.com:

"Yes, they are separated. Right now they're just trying to figure things out. There are no divorce proceedings at this point. They have their ups and downs like all married couples. They argue like everyone else."

While another source told UsMagazine.com:

"[The couple] has been separated for a few months... they are now living apart, and they will see how that goes. The pair has not yet decided to divorce, and both remain committed to their child who right now is their main concern.

They were very much in love. But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife."

The source added that Aguilera even "proposed their August trip to Italy to rekindle their relationship, but it didn't help."

After meeting the music marketing executive at her music management firm, Azoff Music Management, in 2002, Aguilera and Bratman married in November 2005 in Napa Valley. They had their son, Max, in January 2008.

In a statement released late Tuesday, the singer told Us Magazine:

"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever."

We hope Aguilera and Bratman will be able to work out their issues for Max's sake. And maybe even work on their relationship in the process!
