She may not have been a nationally-known NFL reporter a week ago, but now Azteca TV’s Ines Sainz is setting the sports world on fire! After a Tweet declaring her “uncomfortable” feelings in the New York Jets’ locker room, the team owner, Woody Johnson, came out and issued a public apology.

A few glances at Sainz’ picture from the field and you can tell she gets lots of whistles from the fans in the stands. But did anyone on the team do anything inappropriate? Ines was quick to clarify after the eruption of harassment claims following her Tweet.
According to the New York Daily News, she said she “never heard something sexual,” but heard the words “bonita senorita” uttered by one of the players. Rather than risk any inkling of a scandal, Johnson quickly issued this public statement,
"We are taking it very seriously. We want to make sure that all of our reporters are comfortable in whatever environment they're in, whether its the field, the locker room, whatever.”
It’s probably good that he did, as rumors were swirling about complaints made by the Association of Women in Sports Media, which could’ve been very negative for the Jets. Thankfully Sainz accepted the apology and revealed that nothing too offensive (or unforgivable) happened in the locker room.
As she told CNN’s Rick Sanchez, "Yes, I accept the apologies and I say ... thanks to him [Johnson] and for the concern and all the rest of the team because he promised that he is going to make [sure] that everybody on the team respects women.”
