We’re not quite sure what bare chests and watches have in common, but hey…if it works to sell the product, why not? And obviously if that bare chest belongs to Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, then you can bet the campaign will get some attention.
The controversial athlete was in the middle of filming a commercial for his new sponsor, Timeforce Watches, this week when the on-the-set snaps hit the web. Showcasing Cristiano shirtless and posing on a bed, they quickly became a major online attraction.

It seems like quite a few “Situation”-esque Ronaldo pix have been storming the web this month, including 6-pack ab shots from the field and bare-chested fan greets. Could he be giving Matthew McConaughey a run for his money?

Miami Heat and Puerto Rico's National team leader and point guard Carlos Arroyo now joins a list of NBA players like Shaquille O'neal, Ron Artest, and Allen Iverson to attempt a career in music. The difference between Arroyo and the rest: He's really good at it!
Arroyo debuted his reggaeton jam “Se Va Conmigo feat. Yomo” at his recent 31st birthday party in Puerto Rico, where Carlmelo Anthony, Ivy Queen, and his academy award winning cousin Benicio del Toro were in attendance. Way to do it big!

“Se Va Conmigo” is available for download now and is one of the Top 20 among Latin sales on iTunes.

Wow, what a journey it’s been. In the first 10 episodes of "Juegos Prohibidos," Nacho and Jimena went from online strangers to passionate lovers. Team Blogamole has been documenting the addictive Colombian soap every step of the way and before we move forward, we thought it would be fun to do quick recap of the characters (and drama) we’ve all come to love.

Nacho – The hero and main romantic lead. How could you not like this guy? He’s computer-savvy, always looking out for his sick sister, and romantic salvation for Jimena and her difficult home life. The only criticism we’d have for Ignacio is his relationship with Luisa. She is pure trouble and could lead to major trouble for him and his new relationship.

Those of us who thought Jay-Z's prolific lyrics were the only mirror we'd ever get into his world will receive a pleasant surprise when his memoir Decoded hits bookstores November 16th, 2010.
Written several years ago by The Source editor Dream Hamtpon, Decoded traces Hov's life from his childhood in Brooklyn's infamous Marcy Projects to his life as a teen drug dealer and later becoming a hip-hop mogul.

In a June interview with Rolling Stone, Hov discussed why he was reluctant to release the memoir:
"It's too much. For the book, I was interviewed, people close to me were interviewed. So I was learning a lot of things I didn't know as a child. It's not anything I haven't said in the past, in songs. It's just more detailed. A song is three minutes long. A book doesn't have to rhyme, and it has no time limit, so you can say exactly how everything went."
Jay-Z also candidly confessed to being the most affected by parts of Decoded that concerned his absentee father, who abandoned the family when he was 11.
"It was still wrong, at the end of the day, but he did stick around at a time where it wasn't particularly cool or popular. He married my mom at a time when guys were just leaving, and you'd never even meet your dad. So it made me ease up a little bit in how I felt about him."
The 336 page novel interviews Jay-Z's family and friends, and mixes first-person memoir with detailed discussions of his most famous and provocative lyrics.
Since Decoded was completed several years ago, whether an addendum that includes his most recent lps, marriage to Beyoncé, or his stock in the Nets, has been added is unclear. But if Jay reveals the tight lipped secrets of his relationship, we're sure this book will sell millis! Agree?

For anyone doubting the power of a 3D dance flick, bow down! The release of "Step Up 3D" went way beyond expectations, passing the $30 million mark since opening day (August 6). As dance fans, we've been tagging along for all the parties and red carpet events.
Check out some of the exclusive footage Tr3s got from the “Step Up 3D” premiere at L.A.’s El Capitan theatre. The Argentinian Lombard twins (who were absolute scene stealers) gave us some bilingual insight into their memorable onscreen moments. “We improvised most of our scenes and that was amazing,” they revealed.
Leading man Rick Malambri also stopped by to chat about how grueling the dance process really was. He told us, “We went through a month and a half of six days a week, 10 hours a day. Full on choreography…personal training, weight training, you name it! It was intense.”

After a year off, the heavy metal, hard rock, thrasher punk celebration that is Ozzfest is back on the road, with a slate of acts that would make any head banging music fan proud. But of course, in between the Mötley Crües and the Korns, there are quite a few Latino axe men who you should definitely keep an eye on.
One act that was an event favorite, but unfortunately won’t be playing this year, is Cavalera Conspiracy. A thrashed up supergroup with roots in Brazil, France, and America, it features the legendary Cavalera brothers who can wail and smash those cymbals like nobody’s business.

Max’s shredding and unique vocals have been heard in bands like Sepultura and Soulfly, while Igor showcased his insane drumming skills in Sepultura, Nailbomb and Strife. The Conspiracy’s 2008 album Inflikted is definitely worth a listen.

Say ain’t so! Just after winning the La Super Copa Tr3s, could bachata superstars Aventura actually be breaking up?! Don’t worry, we’re just trying to scare you. According to their camp the group is fully intact, although Max Santos is breaking away for a quick solo album.

Listen to any Aventura track and you can recognize Max’s bass-playing immediately. Thunderous, funky, and fused with his own hip-hop leanings, Santos is planning to expand on his musical tastes greatly with his new untitled album.
Interestingly, he’s planning to record in English and possibly recruiting some top talent to help bring the project to life. He’s recently worked very closely with Latin singing duo Miguel & John Q (you can hear Max’s raps in their debut single, “Vida de Rockero”) and there’s a good chance they’ll be on board.
And with rumors swirling about possible collaborations with Prince Royce and Toby Love, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear some “bachatero” hollers mixed into that first Max single. No official word yet on when Santos’ solo album is set to debut, but we imagine it’ll be a major contender for the next La Super Copa!

For every Robert Rodriguez, there are about a dozen Carmen Marrons who are just as skilled, yet not quite as recognized by the mainstream. That’s why Thursday’s (August 19) opening gala for LA’s Latino International Film Festival (LIFF) was such an important event.
Latino filmmakers, actors, and writers all came out to celebrate this year’s up-and-comers. The week long event will feature screenings of over 60 features, documentaries, and shorts. While basking in the glamour and glitz of the red carpet, Team Blogamole was able to talk to some of the creative minds involved with this year’s lineup.

Director Gabriela Tagliavini, who was once an honoree and now at the helm of Eva Longoria Parker’s new "Without Men” movie said, “I love the festival because my first movie was here, my second movie was here, it’s a fantastic event.”

Si eres fan de la música electro-norteña que nos brindan Bostich & Fussible of Nortec Collective, we have great news for you! On September 14 they’ll release their follow-up to their Grammy-nominated Tijuana Sound Machine, which will be titled Bulevar 2000.
The new album follows Bostich & Fussible’s tale of the Tijuana sound machine, a car driving through this ciudad mexicana, this time through a newly constructed avenue, Bulevar 2000. Esta avenida is a direct route through and out of the city, but it’s also very notoriously dangerous. As is their trademark theme, Bostich & Fussible strive to share multiple perspectives de las experiencias de la vida en Tijuana.

El primer sencillo será “I Count The Ways," a very lyrical track featuring vocals by Kylee Swenson of San Francisco-based electro pop band Loquat. The album also features a rare acoustic track by Fussible called “Last Night in Slussen,” about a neighborhood in Stockholm where Nortec has been very well received.
When we caught up with the guys at this year’s LAMC, they already had an idea about what was coming in the near future. They teased us with news of the new album (el cual todavía estaban grabando en el momento), and also talked about their new upcoming world tour.

You’d think a boxing tomboy and an elegant Quinceanera wouldn’t mix, right? Well after watching Angelica, it’s plain to see that nothing could be further than the truth. You don’t have to be a makeup-wearing “girly-girl” to pull off a glamorous "Quiero Mis Quinces" party and this episode’s the proof!
Growing up in Texas as an only child, Angelica is definitely what you’d call a “Daddy’s girl.” She loves her mom and hanging with her girlfriends, but where she feels most comfortable is sparring in the ring with her tough-as-nails Papi.

And Angelica’s boxing training isn’t just a casual hobby, she’s a fierce competitor who’s got a serious shot at the 2012 Olympics! But underneath of the body blows and uppercuts, there’s still a sweet 15-year-old birthday girl who really wants a special Quinceanera celebration.
How’s it going to happen? First the dress. Angelica’s mom hooked up a gorgeous green ensemble that shows off the real beauty behind that tomboy smile. Sure walking in heels takes a little getting used to, but she’s determined to give her guests the full, glamorous package.
Then the photo shoot. In a true “QMQ” first, we’ve got a birthday girl made up beautifully and flashing a championship boxing belt! And how about the choreography? With a little help from rising fighter, Roberto Marroquin, Angelica’s got a dance that’s guaranteed to be a “knock out.”
