Por segunda vez desde 1991 en el concurso Miss Universo, the crown goes to Miss México! Wearing a gorgeous red gown in honor of México’s 200 years of independence, Jimena Navarrete made her country and Latinos everywhere proud.
The August 23rd event, live from Las Vegas, brought out beautiful gowns, smiles, and bods from all over the world. But as we’ve come to expect from a pageant representing the most beautiful women in the universe, las bellezas Latinas were right up front for all the honors. We don’t mean to brag, pero la verdad, hay que decirla!

We snuck in our correspondent Reynaldo Casas to find out what it’s really like among the Miss Universe contestants. Along with Tr3s VJ Carlos Santos, he got an exclusive interview with one of the top 10 finalistas (representando a la isla del encanto, Puerto Rico) Miss Mariana Vicente.

It’s hard to believe that someone who can perform in front of thousands of live fans and millions of TV viewers would describe themselves as “shy." But that’s exactly what Enrique Iglesias revealed, when he described his high school years for MTV’s "When I Was 17.”

Way back in 1992 (when Anna Kournikova was 11 years old), Enrique was just a quiet senior at Miami’s Gulliver Prep School, looking for prom dates like all the rest of us. Although as Enrique puts it, he wasn’t quite the “Hero” that the ladies were looking for:
“I was going to prom with this girl that I really liked and she said that she had decided that she wasn't gonna go with me. And it was devastating. When you're in high school and a few weeks before prom the girl you’re going with says no, it’s awful, man. At the time, my whole world came crumbling down."

Team Blogamole reported that NBA guard Rudy Fernandez is ready to leave the Portland Trailblazers but he may be relocating further than we've expected. According to Andy Miller – Fernandez's agent – Rudy has no desire to continue playing for the NBA and would rather return to Europe.

Fernandez's unhappiness comes from how (according to him) coach Nate McMillian thwarts his talents by limiting him to being “just a shooter” and the Blazers' inability to send him to another NBA team.
"I'm not going to be pressured into making a deal,'' Blazers general manager Rich Cho said. "I'm not going to make a trade just to make a trade. It has to be the right deal for the team.''
Rudy's solution: He will not show up for training camp in October and when the season starts, will go as far as to refuse to play, accept a suspension, and forfeit the final two years of his contract (worth $1.25 million).
Wow! He's taking frustration to a whole new level!

Get ready for some bad behavior, as we bring you Belinda’s new music video “Lolita,” which premiered exclusively on Tr3s and MTVLA on August 23! This upbeat pop-rock track will be the theme song for MTV Latin America’s new soap "Niñas Mal," debuting in September, and coming to Tr3s in 2011.
We’ve already given you a sneak peek, pero ya llegó el vidéo completo! Watch now as Belinda and the actresses from the new telenovela wreak havoc in “Lolita.”
Mexican actresses Isabel Burr and Carmen Aub, y la actriz colombiana Jéssica San Juan, join Belinda for what looks like the very fun-filled taping of this video. The girls get to ride motorcycles, toss up a convenience store, and push a cute nerdy boy around. Al pobre chico lo maltratan bastante, throwing drinks and spilling candy all over him on the floor. Que abuso!
Hasta Belinda gets in on the travesuras, swinging her mic at the speakers around her and setting off sparks. She sings, “soy tu perdición, te rompo el corazón, la la la Lolita,” and if that’s any indication of what’ll be going down in "Niñas Mal," we must be in for some juicy storylines!
La telenovela se trata de un grupo de chicas attending a wealthy private school and, as the name suggests, behaving quite badly. As a popular term for young girls who do things they shouldn’t, “Lolita” resulta el tema perfecto para "Niñas Mal."
Belinda’s had her share of the bad girl streak lately, also guest starring opposite William Levy para la más reciente temporada de Mujeres Asesinas. We definitely like this rebellious, grown-up Belinda!
Que piensan ustedes? Let us know what you think of “Lolita” and Belinda in the comments or @MTV3!

Jennifer Lopez might not grace the "American Idol" judging panel this fall, but it looks like Lopez has another project under her belt.
Jenny teamed up with producer guru Jane Starz to create a Latina teen book series titled Amigas, about four fresh faced entrepreneurial Miami teens.

If you remember correctly, Lopez and Starz inititially intended on making this a TV show back in 2007. Tentatively titled The Amigas Sweet 15 Club, the duo developed a series chronicling five Miami teens who set out to run their own business as Quinceañera party planners.
Since the project never took off, or hasn't taken off yet, Lopez and Starz added Latina author Veronica Chambers to the group and have turned their tv pilot into a popular book series chronicling the adventures of four Miami teens. The first volume, Amigas: Fifteen Candles, has already been released and the second installment, Amigas: Lights, Camera, Quince!, hits bookstores last week and includes a special Q&A with La Lopez!
The good folks over at Latina gave us the lowdown on the new novel:
"15-year-old protagonist Alicia Cruz tools around South Beach with her amigos mejores, Jamie Sosa, Carmen Ramirez-Ruben, and Gaspar "Gaz" Colón. Upon meeting a 14-year-old chica, Sarita at her summer internship, the ambitious and business-minded Alicia volunteers her friends to organize Sarita's quinceañera. Alicia and co. take on the project as their first endeavor for Amigas, Inc., a quince-planning business. Budget problems, inter-friend romances, and a stress-induced quince-zilla Alicia incite mayhem, and adventure ensues."
Sounds like a libro Lopez can share con su hija Emme someday! We definitely think this is the start of many more kid friendly projects from the diva!

WARNING: This post could either be very depressing or very inspirational. TV Guide recently published an article breaking down the salaries of this Fall’s biggest TV stars and it’s downright insane to hear the kind of figures these peeps are pulling in!
When did “House” become the biggest show on TV? Whether you agree or not, star Hugh Laurie is one of the highest paid dramatic stars in primetime, taking in $400k per show! Calculate in an average of 22 episodes per season and you’re in for an annual $8.8M paycheck.

As far as comedy fans go, “30 Rock”'s Tina Fey is laughing all the way to the bank with a rate of $350k per show. And don’t even get us started on Judge Judy! Her hot temper must be working for her because she takes home a cool $45M per year!
We were shocked to discover that Ryan Seacrest pulls a cool $15M annually and Snooki had her rate bumped up to $30k for each “Jersey Shore.”
Interestingly enough, this year’s totals actually worked out pretty well for Latinos. Many of our favorite faces actually topped their respective lists! Eva Longoria Parker, and her three “Desperate” costars, currently make the most per episode of any women on television, with $400k per episode!

La reina del “Waka Waka” could be in some trouble with officials in Barcelona, Spain. It seems that Shakira broke some rules while filming the music video for the first single release of her highly-anticipated new album Sale El Sol.
Este primer sencillo se llamará “Loca,” and apparently, that’s exactly what Barcelona’s city council members think of our Shaki. She hopped on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle without a helmet and into the famous Pla de Palau fountain para bailar con sus fans.

These artistic antics could have her facing some fines, since she didn’t have the city’s permission beforehand. Barcelona’s health and safety council prometen estudiar las fotos y videoclips that were taken during the filming of Shakira’s music video in order to issue a “propuesta de sanción.” For the motorcycle helmet infraction, the fine would usually be around $300.
Cueste lo que cueste, we’re sure she can afford it. And for a music video que nos vuelva locos? Well, it may just be worth getting fined!

Was Shaki just being irresponsible or do you support her artistic abandon? Dejennos saber en los comments or @MTV3!

Some Hollywood starlets got a rude awakening last week after their Beverly Hills hairstylist Gabriela Perez was arrested for scamming over $280k from them in stolen credit card charges.
Jennifer Aniston, one of the reported victims, responded on "Good Morning America," saying Perez is now in her “uncool department.”

“We had a situation that was not cool so I stopped going to her,” said Aniston. “I knew something like this would eventually happen because there’s no way you can get away with that. It’s terrible.”
The LAPD arrested Perez on Wednesday (August 18), charging her with two counts of fraud. She was released on $50,000 bail after appearing in federal court on Thursday (August 19) in Los Angeles and has been placed under house arrest.

Cameron Diaz's latest title might be hazardous to your computer's health; according to virus experts McAfee, Diaz is currently “the most dangerous celebrity on the web.”

Yup, the next time you Google Cameron, be extra careful! According to McAfee’s study, searching for "Cameron Diaz" puts you at a 10% risk of hitting a site strewn with malware. They said to particularly watch out for downloadable Diaz screen savers and any Cameron “images” that can be classified as NSFW.
What other celebs are in the online danger zone? After Cameron, it was Julia Roberts, followed by Jessica Biel and Gisele Bundchen.
Be careful when typing in "Penelope Cruz” too; she was listed as #9.
But Cameron, if you’re listening, don’t worry. Team Blogamole still loves you and will continue to share upcoming projects (like next summer's "Green Hornet”!!!). Just don’t expect to get our Social Security numbers anytime soon.

It’s been an eventful Tweet week para los famosos, and they’ve been spilling their frijoles about all kinds of good stuff! From baring their souls to sharing their photos, they make following them muy entreteniente.
Juanes has been tweeting from Mexico this week, and he’s been keeping excellent company. El artista colombiano posted links to photos with a couple of living legends in Mexican music, Marco Antonio Solis y “el gran maestro” Vicente Fernandez. Could new collabs be in the works?

Another artist who’s been uploading interesting pictures this week is Ricky Martin. The artist, who disclosed his sexual orientation earlier this year, posted up a new black and white portrait baring his name and the title “ME.”
