ESPN's Summer X Games 16 weekend long event was nothing short of amazing! The action-sporting event took place July 29 - August 1, 2010 in Los Angeles California and featured competitions in Moto X, BMX, skateboarding and rallying. What made this year's X Games more exciting? 3 gold medals were bought home by Latinos!

We gave you a few names to look out for, one of which was female skater Leticia Bufoni. The 17-year-old Brazilian skater showed off her “girl-power” pulling trick after trick — successfully using the guard rails — in the woman's skateboard park event.
Bufoni took home her first X-games silver medal, putting together a run consisting of a kick flip, lipslide, rock to fakie off the coffee cup, and a front side 180 off the steps. Translation: Sick!
Although Bufoni lost to Alexis Sablone, she still gave props to her competition:
“The competition this year was great, better than last year. I feel like all of the girls stepped up and took it to the next level.”
In the men's Skateboard Park competition, youngster Pedro Barros won the Gold. The 15-year-old rookie phenom beat 37-year-old veteran Andy MacDonald in a battle of experience versus youth.
“We're young, so we have more energy and get more hyped up,” Barros said after the competition.
“Hyped up” was an understatement. Barros was explosive! Using a combination of stunning 540 airs combined with huge transfers and grinding slides, he tore up the elaborate course at the L.A. Live Complex in downtown L.A.
Probably the most impressive performer of the entire X-games competition was action-sports legend Travis Pastrana. Pastrana — a representative of Puerto Rico in international competiton — took home the top prize in two of the five categories he was scheduled to competed in.
Despite a three year hiatus from the event, Pastrana won his seventh Moto X Freestyle gold with relative ease. Only needing the first two of three laps to build a substantial lead, wooing the crowd with back-flips, wall-rides, and overall creative use of the the course, Pastrana was easily ahead of his competitors.
With his advantage, Pastrana could have simply rode the last lap out but in true X-Games form, he pulled off a double back flip “for the fans.” The fans went berserk!
In the end, Pastrana came out the victor in an event he's never medaled in before, earning his 11th gold medal and 17th overall. Unfortunately, a crash in the quarterfinal round of “Rally Car Racing” eliminated Pastrana from the competition and forced him to withdraw from “Rally Car Super Rally” but he still cleaned up this year.
Team Blogamole congratulatess to all of the winners and those amazing athletes that competed. We're loving the Latino Flair the X-Games had to offer this year!
