We don’t quite expect Fidel Castro's The Strategic Victory to be part of Oprah’s Book Club anytime soon, but it could make for a unique read — that is if you’ve got plenty of time and a lot of battery power in your iPad. This new autobiography counts in at a whopping 833 pages!
Focused specifically on his youth, The Strategic Victory covers tales of Fidel’s childhood, his university years, and the rise of his political power throughout his 20s. No one’s denying that views will be skewed, but it could still be interesting (at least for historical purposes).

Spread apart into 25 chapters, the book will feature maps, never-before-seen photos, and illustrations of the weapons Castro's rebels used during the Cuban revolution. It supposedly will also cover in detail his disastrous attack on the Moncada Barracks in 1953.
Never one to shy away from hype, Castro organized a special unveiling of the book this past Monday night (August 2nd), which he attended. There, he announced he was working on a second memoir and laid out plans to publish over 50,000 copies of Victory.
Will it make the Miami bestseller list? Somehow we doubt it.
