CineMas Cool: John Leguizamo Joins 'Waco' Cast

The fast-talking, feisty-looking cutie John Leguizamo is set to star in “Waco,” an upcoming movie about the most infamous event in U.S. law enforcement history. It is still unclear as to what character Leguizamo will be playing, but our vote is for David Koresh!

It will be tough to channel the mindset of someone like Koresh, but we think Leguizamo is up to the challenge. "Waco" will be directed by Rupert Wainwright, the man behind "Stigmata" and the remake of "The Fog."

According to The Playlist, Wainwright shared this about the film:

“...the first narrative feature film to explore the events of the ATF raid on Mt. Carmel, TX, the 51-day siege that followed, and the devastating compound fire that resulted in the deaths of 81 civilians. The movie cuts between ATF special agents, FBI Negotiators, the Davidians on the inside, the tactical Hostage Rescue Team leaders, and the political machinations in Washington DC.”

Adrian Brody will play Koresh's right hand man Steve Schneider and Sharon Stone is set to play his wife, Judy Schneider. Kurt Russell will tackle the role of the lead FBI negotiator at the time, Byron Sage. We love Russell as an authoritative figure!

The subject matter is intriguing and we're definitely curious to see exactly how everything went down and where things went wrong!

"Waco" is set to release sometime in 2011.
