Happy Día de los Padres to all the fathers in our comunidad! First celebrated in 1910, the holiday is now recognized in over 80 countries around the world.
Every parent is different, so we have a few ideas to help you show your appreciation to Dear 'ol Dad — no matter what his interests may be.

Grillin' Dad
An outdoor spin on the typical Dad’s Day dinner, make a full day of BBQ fun and be sure to have some good beverages on hand! You do the grilling and let Dad relax (unless he wants to take over, then stand back!).
Sports Dad
Hook up the speakers, set his favorite recliner directly in front of the big screen and allow him to watch his favorite sport — without any distractions! As an added surprise, catch up on players, standings, and statistics so that the entire family can watch, understand, and cheer along.
If your father is into soccer, you're in luck! We have a recap of the 2010 FIFA World Cup to help get you started.
Gamer Dad
Let the controllers rule for the day! If he's up for it, challenge Dad to a video game contest. Fire up one of those first-person shoot 'em up games and play until your thumbs cramp.
Our top pick: Call of Duty: World at War. This will allow your pop to brush up on his skills in preparation for Call of Duty: Black Ops, set to release on November 9.
Sentimental Dad
Encourage the kids to tell their father how much they love and appreciate him; suggest that they make heartfelt cards out of paper and markers. Personalized gifts always go over well, even with Dads!
Gadget Dad
Sometimes guys are the hardest people to shop for, so taking him to pick out his own gifts once in a while might be a fun experience for both of you. If you prefer to surprise him later this evening, here are a few gift ideas:

1. Logitech Harmony 890 Advanced Universal Remote Control
We like to call this the Remote Control From Heaven. Dad will have the ability to control up to 15 devices including advanced lighting systems with this universal remote that features a USB interface for easy updates via home computers with a USB port. Give the gift of ultimate power!!

2. Bose Quietcomfort 15 Acoustic Noise Canceling Headphones
If you know he could use it, give Dad the gift of silence with these super cool noise cancelling headphones. This cool gadget reduces more noise across a wider range of frequencies. This is ideal for frequent flyers and distractions at work or home. You may have a hard time getting Dad to take them off. When the kids are screaming, there's nothing he'll love more!

3. Apple iPad
If you can afford the hefty price tag, Let Dad be the first kid — we mean GUY — on the block to own an Apple iPad. This gadget consolidates his Netbook, e-reader, gaming device, photo frame, and iPod into an elegant super gadget! Features such as Bluetooth, built in Wi-Fi, movie rentals, 10 hours of battery life, optional 3G wireless, and the most celebrated App Store on the planet will have him pretty worked up.
For the Dad who has everything, there are plenty of new movies to choose from such as "The Karate Kid," 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," "The A-Team," and "Shrek Forever After". A trip to the movies is a great way to spend time with Dad, but unfortunately lots of people will be thinking the same thing.
To avoid crowds and save a little cash, stay in the comfort of your own home and rent a great movie.
