The wildly popular telenovela “Teresa” has been remade two times so far and apparently third time's the charm! The second remake in 1989 was a huge success, earning TVyNovela's “Best Telenovela of the Year" award and starred Salma Hayek as the title character. It was this role that first made her a star in Mexico.
Beginning July 16, fresh faces will give it a go on the timeless soap opera — and by fresh we mean hot!

The part of Teresa will be played by novela actress Angelique Boyer. Opposite her will be People en Espanol: Los 25 hombres mas guapos hottie Aaron Diaz. Also rumored to be joining the cast is “Ugly Betty”'s irresistible Sebastian Rulli. Has someone turned up the thermostat in here?!
Maybe Boyer can get some pointers on her character from Mrs. Hayek Pinault — as long as they can assure Salma there are no snakes on the set!
Boyer shared her excitement about this new challenge with Informador:
“Estoy muy emocionada, es un momento soñado, estoy disfrutando cada minuto. Me siento muy agradecida por esto. Hay que esforzarse para hacer un buen trabajo. Los retos traen grandes recompensas. Creo que vale la pena tomar esto como un gran reto, como de los más difíciles, para que la recompensa se refleje en muchísimos aspectos. Lo que me importa es llegarle al público, que se haga una Teresa diferente y que marque”
For those not familiar with the popular telenovela, "Teresa' is the story of a poor girl rejecting a poor man who truly loves her, who heads off to college in hopes of marrying a rich man. Teresa makes many mistakes along the way, including trying to make every rich man fall in love with her — even her best friends' fiance.
