Get Your Game On: 'Green Day: Rock Band' To Hit Stores June 8!

Green Day have taken over Broadway and now they're ready to pown your game console! The multi-platinum, Grammy-winning artists collaborated with MTV games, Harmonix, and Warner Bros./Reprise Records to create "Green Day: Rock Band", available worldwide next Tuesday (June 8)! Are you ready to rock?

If you can't wait for the official release, there's a demo for "Green Day: Rock Band" on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace!

The game, available on the PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 platforms, will allow fans to play as Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre' Cool, taking fans on a journey through the story and history of the band. The experience is meant to be an extension of Green Day's most defining albums and key moments throughout their career, using select venues and art specific to the band's history.

Billie Joe shared this statement on Rockband.com:

"We’ve worked with the Rock Band team in the past year to enable our fans to play tracks from 21st Century Breakdown, and we’re excited to now be working on a game spanning our entire career,” said Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong. “We want people to fire this up, choose their favorite Green Day tracks, and play along with us as Rock Band avatars so they can feel what it's like to perform on stage as Green Day."

Players can gain access into the band's media vault, where they can unlock more than 100 collectible images, and more than 40 minutes of rare and unreleased video from interviews, outtakes and performances!

For those who aren't so familiar with Green Day, the game is still sure to please. The “punk-trio” offers a plethora of catchy hits whose energy and vibe perfectly fits the Rock Band experience. As soon as you hear "American Idiot" blaring through the speakers, you'll be ready to strap on a guitar and rock out with your "sock" out!

“Its like a glorified karaoke machine,” Armstrong said. “Or 'Mortal Kombat' with guitars.”

Green Day joins The Beatles as the only other act immortalized in Rock Band. We must say, not bad company to be in. The band is currently on their 21st Century Breakdown world tour in support of their eight studio album of the same name.
