Deep Thoughts: Is Johnny Depp Losing His Hotness?

There were many important global issues to cover this week (SB 1070, violence in China, etc.), but I have to admit that something else is weighing just as heavily on my mind.

I hate to say this, but... Johnny Depp isn't looking so fresh and so clean these days. What's up with that?

Even Johnny on the big screen is losing his hunkiness. Mr. Depp looked deranged in "Alice in Wonderland," but you could blame that on the scary makeup.

In "Pirates of the Caribbean" he is at least very sexy ugly, which is often quite hot.

Nevertheless, I need the Johnny from “Blow” or “Chocolat” back, STAT! Please Johnny, please. Do some cardio, calisthenics, something!

I remember growing up and watching "21 Jump Street," thinking “Wowie, Johnny is so dreamy.” Now when I look at him, I find myself searching for the guy I use to fall asleep thinking about.

Yes, I'm being shallow [editor: very shallow], but if women can be judged on their looks, then so can men. I will say it: Johnny has beer bloat. This forces me to make a sad face emoticon when I talk about him to my friends on Facebook.

Perhaps there is hope. He is starring in a new movie, “The Tourist,” with the perennially beautiful Angelina Jolie. Perhaps some of her hotness will rub off on him. I mean seriously, Angie is too sexy for one person, she should share the wealth with her co-star.

During a night shoot for "The Tourist" in April, it looked like poor Johnny was being arrested. Could it have been for looking like the Unabomber?

OK, I'll be fair. Johnny Depp is in his forties now and a time machine can't take him back to "21 Jump Street" days, but that’s still no excuse in my book.

Get it together, Johnny. Please. For me?
