Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz performed at the Palacio de los Deporte on May 5 in his hometown of Madrid, Spain.

In an effort to raise funds after the recent earthquake tragedy in Chile, Sanz joined forces with Juanes, Shakira, Juan Luis Gerra and Laura Puasini to record a cover of “Gracias a la Vida.”

After the event, the singer tweeted, "Los conciertos de madrid fueron maravillosos.. Especiales, magicos, unicos."
We've got the track and the latest on Alejandro's projects, after the jump!
The charity track, which was originally written and performed by Chilean folk singer Violeta Parra, is about giving thanks for everything we do have:
"Thanks to life, which has given me so much/ It has kept my tired feet walking/ With them I walked through cities and puddles/ Beaches and deserts, mountains and plains."
Sanz is on a roll — at the 2010 Latin Billboard Music Awards, he won hot Latin song in the vocal event for “Looking for Paradise”. His 'Paradise Tour', which involves 26 cities in Spain and 12 in North America, kicked off May 1st to promote his new album, Paraíso Express.
What's next for Sanz? He'll be performing in Gandia (Valencia) in September to mark the town's annual Fira i festes, after which his tour will take him to Latin America. We can't wait!
