Pop-rock estrella Belinda has released her long-awaited nuevo album, 'Carpe Diem.'  With a hot video in the works with Cuban rapper Pitbull for first single "Egoísta," a successful telenovela run with 'Camaleones,' and rumors of a steamy on-off romance con el futbolista Mexicano Giovani Dos Santos, this could really be the year para la cantante Mexicana.

Our friends over at Acceso Total recently sent us some super hot exclusive photos of Belinda, taken during an exclusive performance for their site, in which she belted out older hits "Bella Traicion" and "Ni Freud Ni Tu Mamá" along with canciones nuevas como "Sal De Mi Piel."  We're totally digging her pop-princess-with-an-edge estilo, no creen? Say it ain't so!!! As the 15th anniversary of Selena's passing quickly approaches on March 31st, a new book penned by Cristina Castrellon, a close associate of La Reina de Tex Mex, supposedly reveals the intimate details of the singer's life and afterlife...as interpreted by a psychic!

Selena: Su vida despues de su muerte recalls Castrellon's close friendship with the singer and describes her as a generous woman of simple tastes and a deep rooted faith in her ability to triumph; a woman who was proud of her Hispanic heritage and who felt an absolute passion for music.

In addition to detailing Castrellon's friendship with Selena, the book also presents the expert psychic’s revelations on La Reina, including six messages to Selena’s closest friends and loved ones. Hmmm...We wonder what the Quintanillas have to say about this?

Marvel Knights Animation just announced their newest motion comic epic: Iron Man: Extremis, available April 16th!

Adapting the critically-acclaimed storyline by superstars Warren Ellis and Adi Granov, Tony Stark (AKA Iron Man) faces his greatest threat ever—a terrorist transformed into an unstoppable force with the powerful bio-engineered Extremis super-soldier serum.

“Iron Man: Extremis is one of the pre-eminent Iron Man stories, thanks to the amazing work of Warren Ellis and Adi Granov,” explained Marvel Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada. “Just as the Iron Man: Extremis comic book forever changed how we see Iron Man, the motion comic adaptation represents the next evolution of the medium.”

Watch out YouTubers! If a certain pint-sized vlogger's sped up, screeching voice is more than you can stand from your desktop, we give you fair warning: the Fredvolution will soon be televised.

Nickelodeon announced yesterday that, among a slate of new TV Movies, 'Fred: The Movie'
will debut on the youth channel in fall 2010. The flick will be based on the character Fred Figglehorn, which was created by teenager Lucas Cruikshank and featured on the successful Fred Channel on YouTube.

Starring Cruikshank as Fred, Jennette McCurdy (iCarly) as Bertha, Jon Cena (WWE) as Fred's Dad, and UK teen star Pixie Lott as Fred's long-time crush, Judy, the movie follows Fred as he is finally able to make it to Judy's house, only to find that she has moved. Fred sets out on a journey to find Judy and develops a scheme that makes him beyond cool.

'Fred: The Movie' was written by David A. Goodman (Family Guy). Varsity Pictures studio head Brian Robbins hopes to release a second movie in theaters, after the Nickelodeon debut expands Fred’s audience beyond the millions who already watch online. (via Mashable)

Hi, Muggles! Have you ever fantasized about exploring Hogwarts with Harry, Ron, and Hermione? Now you can!

Universal Orlando Resort announced today that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will have its grand opening on June 18.

The marquee attraction, which will combine cutting-edge robotics and film technology, is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, where "guests will feel things no one has ever felt inside a theme park attraction, move in ways no one has ever moved, experience film like no one else ever has, explore vast sets punctuated by amazing special effects — and have an adventure only possible in Harry Potter’s world.”

“As you venture through Hogwarts castle, you meet Harry, Ron, and Hermione who convince you to skip a planned lecture and follow them. Upon taking their advice, you travel by Floo powder, and begin the adventure as you soar over Hogwarts, narrowly escape a dragon attack, have a close encounter with the Whomping Willow, get pulled into a Quidditch match [pictured], and more.” According to the press release, this is the first-ever combination of advanced robotic ride system technology with immersive filmmaking. ”The attraction’s newly created ride system envelops guests in filmed action scenes and moves those scenes with them as they travel through the ride, allowing more time in the center of the adventure and with their favorite characters.” Read more...

Robert Rodriguez announced the latest addition to the 'Spy Kids' franchise, with an interesting twist — the cast will be entirely new. Rodriguez told Coming Soon the film will have “different kids, not the old kids.” Aw, but we love Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega!

Dimension Films officially announced that 'Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World' will be released in August of 2011.

Rodriguez has been showcasing his versatility as a director and producer. With the soon-to-be released 'Predators' remake and 'Machete' (we loved that fake trailer in Grindhouse!) on deck, we're certain he'll continue to inspire the next wave of Latino filmmakers.

Having multiple births may bring you fame, but octomoms have to eat too.

The Associated Press reported Thursday morning that Nadya Suleman recently signed a deal with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

In exchange for putting a sign in front of her yard proclaiming, "Don't Let Your Dog or Cat Become an Octomom. Always Spay or Neuter," Suleman will receive $5,000. The animal rights organization confirmed on Wednesday it would also throw in a month's supply of veggie burgers and veggie hot dogs for Suleman and her 14 children, who range in age from 1 to 8.

Does this sound depressing? It could have been worse. Nadya Suleman turned down
an offer from Vivid Entertainment this week to star in a porn film. Co-chairman Steven Hirsch had announced his company would pay off Suleman's mortgage, a deal the controversial mom rejected.

Despite being in the spotlight and receiving occasional sponsorship, Suleman's family is struggling financially. Her father, Ed Doud, has defaulted on a $450,000 balloon payment on a half-million dollar house he bought last year for the family to live in, mortgage holder Amer Haddadin told AP on Wednesday.

Suleman's lawyer, Jeff Czech, said earlier this week his client's father was hoping to work something out, he was blunt when it came to the balloon payment: "Mr. Doud at this moment doesn't have $450,000 to pay off," he said.

Octomom's financial stability has been an issue since she made medical history in 2009. Although the family is struggling to support so many children, AP reports that Suleman has been photographed shopping at expensive stores, getting manicures and working out.

In the aftermath of news that Suleman's multiple birth was the result of fertility drugs, a flurry of incorrect assumptions based on race and class permeated the Internet.

Many people assumed that because Nadya had such a large family, she was Latino. Suleman's father is an Iraqi immigrant and her mother is said to be Ukranian. Gutierrez is the name of Nadya's former husband.

Latinos are not the only ones with big families, people!

Sci-fi heads who have been following the new 'Predators' know that the film wrapped in the second week of January. It's a long wait until the July release, so enjoy this clip of director Robert Rodriguez from SXSW!

Among other tasty behind-the-scenes factoids, Rodriguez reveals that back in 1996 he was originally hired for 'Predators' as a writer.

If you can't wait for a taste of the new 'Predators,' perhaps some solace can be found in Alice Braga. The Brazilian actress plays gun-toting Isabelle in Rodriguez's revamp of the film series.

When speaking with MTV News at SXSW, Braga had this to say about her character:

"She's a girl from special forces. She's a tough cookie. She's a sniper. She jumps into the story and is trying to run for her life, which is classic 'Predator' films."

Calle 13 brought its brand of hip hop and alternative reggaeton to Havana on Tuesday, performing for thousands of Cuban fans while railing against U.S. policy.

Terra reports that the controversial band rocked their electromovimiento in the historic Malecón in Havana, where delighted locals fainted and danced for about two hours.

Before the concert, Puerto Rican singer Rene Perez, aka "Residente", remarked that anti-Castro Cuban-Americans living in Florida denouncing the band’s appearance “are going to come at us, be all over us, but it’s all the same to us.” The singer also proclaimed that the band was “going to talk about sex, religion and politics.”

Residente is very vocal in his views on U.S. policy, and Tuesday's show was no exception. During Calle 13's set, Perez shouted obscenities at the U.S. diplomatic mission located behind the plaza. Unfortunately for the band, the U.S. diplomatic mission was closed for the day.

U.S. citizens, including Puerto Ricans, can't travel to Cuba without permission. Despite these restrictions, American officials approved the band’s appearance in Cuba. Perez said Monday the band is influenced by politics in most things it does, and is aware it's making a statement with the Havana show.

Calle 13 will play Miami as part of White Lion Records’ 15 Anniversary Reggaeton mega-Concert on March 25.
