Spring is here (but not if you live in NYC, womp!) and it's time to think about upgrading your wardrobe to accommodate the impending summer sunshine.
Rather than actually taking the time to develop my own style (I'm busy and kind of old), I've decided to analyze what the youngsters were rockin' at the 23rd annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
Based on intensely staring at this Kids' Choice Awards Fashion Gallery, Summer 2010 will be all about pastels, flirty dresses, cute shorts, lady warriors and casual cool. It also looks like the 80's look isn't going anywhere... guess I'll hold on to my parachute pants!

I was, however, inspired by the sparkly ankle socks with stilettos! They reminded MTV Tr3s Production Assistant Giselle of how she used to play dress up when she was little. It's cute, fun and affordable. I may cop that.
We also noticed that most of the starlets were wearing cute, colorful short dresses. I like that you can either dress these up or down, depending on the shoes and accessories. Cute dresses always = win in my book.

And of course you can’t walk out of the house without your hot pair of sunglasses, just ask Justin Bieber, who is apparently now the emperor of Twitter or something.

More photos and in-depth fashion analysis, after the jump!

Fictional fashionista Carrie Bradshaw is ready to once again rule the box-office with the release of 'Sex and the City 2' quickly approaching on May 27th. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga continues ruling the music charts, similarly inspiring gawks and grins with her always unpredictable looks.
MTV News recently caught up with the "SATC" girls, and they had to ask: Is Gaga the real-life Carrie Bradshaw?
"She breaks all the rules; she's unconventional," Sarah Jessica Parker said of the comparison. And as the interview progressed, Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis continued to gush their Gaga adoration.
Parker voiced:
"The thing that I loved best about her recently was when she sat down at the piano at the Grammys and sang, and just played the piano. And you could hear how lyrical her voice is. I really hope she does an album just of singing with the piano. She's so musically gifted. It's not just the fact that she's an incredible performer and is shocking. She's got a beautiful ear."
Davis stated:
"Also, 'Bad Romance' is a really good song to work out to!"
Nixon added:
"I have met Lady Gaga and she is a big fan of our show."
What do you think, Tr3s Comunidad? Who would rule the runway, Gaga or Carrie? Let us know what you think below or @MTV3!

Yes, we know that overachiever Rachel (Lea Michele Sarfati) is of Spanish-Sephardic ancestry, but wouldn't it be great to see more Latinos on 'Glee'? Tr3s Comunidad, show your stuff and audition on MySpace — YOU could be the next geektastic star!

As of Tuesday, amateur and professional performers (age 16 to 26) are invited to submit five-minute audition videos via MySpace at myspace.com/gleeauditions.
Here's how to audition:
1. Submit an audition video on MySpace at myspace.com/gleeauditions. The deadline to submit videos is April 26, 2010. Be sure to include these things in your video:
- 1-minute of you explaining why you want to be on the show
- 4-minute demonstration of your singing ability, performing one of Glee's hits such as True Colors, You Can't Always Get What You Want and Lean on Me
2. You MUST sing a cappella or with a single instrument accompaniment via MySpace Karaoke. You can also upload your own pre-recorded video.
Hollywood Crush has some great tips on how to stand out in your audition video. We also suggest
making sure you shoot your video in a quiet room, without your annoying brother or sister messing you up in the background!
Season 2 of 'Glee' premiers April 13, immediately following 'Idol'.
Tr3s Comunidad, are you going to audition? We want to see your video! Post it in the comments or send it to us @MTV3! We'll feature them right here on Blogamole. Go Team!

Christina Aguilera's been showcasing her inner burlesque since "Lady Marmalade," so it wasn't a far stretch to hear she'd been cast in the upcoming film along with 70's disco reina Cher.
'Burlesque' hits theaters Thanksgiving weekend and in it Xtina plays a small town girl hired by the struggling club owner (Cher) as a waitress, and later becomes the venue's main attraction — thanks to her larger than life voice. Yawn! Sounds like a mix of 'Moulin Rouge' and a little 'Coyote Ugly' to us!
The film also stars 'Twilight' bad boy Cam Gigandet and Kristen Bell. Interested yet?
Tr3s Communidad, we want to hear from you! Will you go see Christina in her first silver screen appearance? Let us know in the comments or @MTV3.
And if you haven't heard Aguilera's new single, make sure you check out "Not Myself Tonight" below!

After several straight weeks of sub-par performances, Andrew Garcia is back! With the help of Usher, the 24-year-old crooner culminated a very "nervous" week with a soulful, triumphant reinterpretation of the Chris Brown dance hit "Forever."

Garcia took to the stage with just his guitar, a stool and a stylin' outfit, transforming the 'Idol' stage into an intimate acoustic session.
Although Andrew's performance rocked, we think the best part of last night's show was his mother.
After Simon called her son "boring," she tore him a new one in Spanish! Don't mess with mama!
We agree with Kara, it was definitely "one giant leap in the right direction." In addition to Andrew's performance, Randy said "Andrew is back" and that his outfit was "dope."
This plucky young father from Southern California had a background some of us can relate to. Will Andrew Garcia be the first Latino 'American Idol?'
What do you think, Tr3s Comunidad? Does Andrew have what it takes to win the whole thing? Let us know in the comments or @MTV3!

OK, I fell for it. I clicked on the 'Scarface School Play' in my Facebook feed (posted by a friend who frequently shares hilariously inappropriate YouTube clips) and thought it was real... it's not.
If you didn't figure it out on your own, the Lulz-and-cringe-worthy version of 'Scarface' — with grade school kids playing all the parts and using fake curse words — was created by director Marc Klasfeld, the man behind Lady Gaga's "Pokerface."
Well played, Klasfeld!
TMZ dished early this morning that the viral sensation was produced in L.A. and the audience members were a mix of cast family members, colleagues and friends.
The not so Lulzy (or extremely Lulzy, depending on how sick you are) news is that the video is causing lots of drama for one suburban grade school. Oh NOES!
NBC Chicago reports that lines like “You do coke and you kill people, that’s wonderful Tony,” coming from a 5-year old apparently don't go over well with parents. The author of the YouTube clip is listed as cindymomof6, of Bartonville, Illinois and that has given parents of Bartonville Grade School District 66 cause for concern.
Superintendent Shannon Duling has fielded scores of phone calls about the video that range from incensed to disappointed.
“One called and was upset because they thought it actually happened here,” he said. “I think it’s interesting how quickly people jump to conclusions.”
To set the record straight, Barton Elementary hasn’t staged a single play this year. Their junior high school kids are working on a production of “The Diary of Anne Frank."
Someone needs to clue in the poor dopes who keep leaving outraged YouTube comments. As my deranged Facebook friend would say, "Lulzathon!"
Motherfudgers, be honest! Would you ever let your kids participate in a 'Scarface' play? Confess in the comments or at @MTV3! We promise not to judge. Much.

Since disclosing his sexual orientation on Monday, pop star Ricky Martin's usual Twitter chatter has gone understandably silent. This has not prevented celebrities from reaching out to him with supportive tweets from around the world.

Eva Longoria: You are inspiring and beautiful, te quiero mucho!
Calle 13: Ser hombre no tiene que ver con tu preferencia sexual si no con la honestidad con la que sostienes tu palabra. Ricky es mucho mas hombre que muchos hombre que dicen ser hombres
Many in the blogosphere are calling Ricky's decision important and courageous. In the wake of
Mexican singer Paquita la del Barrio announcing that she would rather a child starve to death than be raised by a gay couple, Ricky's bravery is a game changer for many queer and transgender Latinos.
Fans who have been following Ricky since his Menudo days will need to assess what love and equality truly means.

Similar to Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP, Teri Hatcher of Desperate Housewives is launching her own site, GetHatched.com, on DisneyFamily.com sometime in May.

Described as a "Chick's Guide to Life," the lifestyle site will feature articles, blogs, original videos series, and advice from experts of interest to women. It will offer women “funny and real answers to life’s big questions and little dilemmas,” the promo on GetHatched.com now teases.
Teri says about the new Disney site:
“I just want to create a go to respite for women where they can find a shoulder to lean on. I hope what you get from it is a sense of honesty, candidness and the understanding that wacky things happen to all of us. I love to get at problems through humor.”
GetHatched.com will also house several original web series – the first of which will be titled “In The House.” The webisode will be a talk show, shot in Teri’s home where she will interview a number of celebrities and everyday women.
Continuing her partnership with Disney – who own ABC – the actress is supporting their initiative to attract a wider female audience to the ‘Family.com’ group of sites.
In addition to Desperate Housewives fame, Teri Hatcher is known for her bestselling book called “Burnt Toast and Other Philosophies of Life.” - via DisneyDreaming.com
