Primetime Latinas: Betty vs. Wizards

Looks like ABC is over America Ferrera and Ugly Betty! According to the Hollywood Reporter,  "ABC has decided to push the premiere of the dramedy from Oct. 9 to Oct 16," and instead plans on airing same-week reruns of some of their new shows in its place. The two-hour premiere of Betty is now scheduled to air at 8p.m. on Friday Oct. 16, then moving to its official new time slot of 9p.m. on Friday Oct 23. Ouch!

However, Disney, ABC's parent company, has decided to extend the third season of the Selena Gomez hit, The Wizards of Waverly Place! According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Disney has extended the third season of hit show with a pickup of eight additional episodes," bringing the total number of episodes to 86!

As previously reported, Wizards recently won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program and an ALMA Award for Selena. In August, the Wizards movie became cable TV's No.#2 scripted telecast of all time with 13.5 million viewers!

It's good to know at least one Latina is on a hit show! Maybe now America will tone down the divaness! [Latina]
