Nelly Furtado is calling the process of creating her upcoming all-Spanish album, Mi Plan, a "liberating" experience.  Por qué?  La cantante canadiense admits that by singing en español she is eliminating the use of a persona (such as the sexy club gal in "Maneater") and singing directamente desde su corazón.  Plus, we guess maneaters and promiscuous girls don't age very well...  According to Nelly, singing Spanish pop songs is the "next step" in being able to have an international career that will allow her to still be rockin' it onstage at 80 years old.

Nelly also admits that after her 2006 release Loose, the trilingual cantante was starting to get bored of writing English pop songs -- enter la lengua hispana to save the day, as a fountain river ocean of inspiration came flooding in.  Bueno, we already knew that nuestro idioma is a source of inspiration for many, especially when it comes to talking about el amor!  We're definitely excited about Nelly exploring her "Latin soul," and eagerly looking forward to her upcoming collaborations con artistas latinos como Julieta Venegas y La Mala Rodríguez!

BREAKING NEWS! Nominee announcements went out today for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.  What grabbed nuestra atención when we scanned the list?  EL DÚO DINÁMICO ESTAN NOMINADOS! After a runaway year, with record-breaking album sales and #1 videos, Wisin y Yandel have been nominated for an MTV Video Music Award.

We think los boricuas can swing it, especially since they're a hit con las mujeres.  Los Revolucionarios are nominated in the Best Pop category for "Abusadora" against Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Cobra Starship and Britney Spears. Wisin y Yandel join rapper and Degrassi grad Drake, roqueros Kings of Leon and college boy Asher Roth as VMA nominee virgins. They are the third Latin artist (Tres es el número de la suerte, no?) to earn a VMA nomination for a music video with Spanish only lyrics, following the 2005 nominations for Shakira's "La Tortura" and Daddy Yankee's "Gasolina."

The ladies claimed a fair share of nominations at this year's VMAs. Beyoncé schooled her VMA colleagues by earning nine nods for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," and Lady Gaga earned a collective nine noms for "Poker Face" and "Paparazzi."  Not to be outdone, Britney (no se pueden tener los VMAs sin Britney), earned five noms combined for "Womanizer" and "Circus."

Viva La Vida, y Los Hombres!

Coldplay, Jay-Z, Green Day, Eminem and Kanye West will be vying for VMA titles este año también.  With problem children like Eminem and Kanye at the VMAs, the night is sure to be un éxito polémico.

It's been a huge week for Pee Wee!  Not only is his current single "Cumbaya" a big hit, pero su nueva telenovela Camaleones (in which he co-stars with Belinda and Alfonso "Poncho" Herrera) just premiered last week.  And that's not all... word on the street is that the pop cantante has, ahem, lost his virginity?!

Sorry chicas, it looks like Pee Wee's corazón just may be off the market.  We all saw the photos of Pee Wee at this year's Premios Juventud, where he arrived with a gorgeous mystery chica on his arm, pero we still wonder if there's any truth to this cherry poppin' chisme.  Pee Wee had been quoted on wanting to wait para la mujer perfecta así que nos preguntamos what (or who!) could have caused this change of heart?  Could his mystery date (aka Raquel, the Orbit Mist spokesgirl) be the one?  Guess we'll have to wait to find out more about this juicy chisme! Not to worry, no matter what the status of his sex life is, Pee Wee is still the sweetheart we know and love.  In a recent interview with People En Español, Pee Wee reveals that su relación con su madre is extremely important to him, and that he calls her every morning before he begins shooting scenes for Camaleones.

Lo único que quiero es darle una mejor calidad de vida, que esté tranquila y viva una vida bonita.

Ay, dios mío, que lindo!!  Check off "buen hijo" to the list of things Pee Wee's got going for him!  Whoever he chooses to be his amorcito is definitely one lucky gal!  [People En Español]

This Monday morning, we're breaking both bad and good news to Twilight fans por todo el mundo.

At the San Diego Comic-Con convention last month, Twilight newbie Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays a member of the Volturi clan in New Moon, claimed that the Twilight sequel would kick it up a notch with a nude scene featuring actors Michael Sheen, Christopher Heyerdahl and himself: It's a full-body shot...They're bathing in sort of a Roman bath kind of thing.

A few weeks after the blogosphere buzzed away on this juicy tidbit (and teen girls everywhere test drove their phone cameras to capture the moment), MTV News revealed la verdad.  New Moon director Chris Weitz and Summit Entertainment corrected Bower's statement in an email to MTV News, verifying that the Twi-quel would not feature full frontal:

...Be assured that, even though we do want the look of the Volturi to be a bit of a surprise, they [the cast] are always — as in the book! — fully clothed.

Bower, known as a jokester,  apologized to fans from his Twitter account.

Que lastima!  We were hoping for a R-rated edition of Stephenie Meyer's work.

However, we're dealing out GOOD NEWS today to lessen the blow of the Twilight no-nude announcement.  The new promo shots for New Moon have hit the press. Don't you wish you could fast forward straight to November?
