As if you needed another excuse to wait eagerly for the rest of the movies, ahora the Twilight series is getting un poquito de sabor Latino with the addition of Catalina Sandino Moreno to the cast of la tercera película de la serie, Eclipse.

La talentosa actriz Colombiana is best known for playing the Oscar-nominated lead role in the gritty drug-trafficking film, María Full of Grace.  She has just signed on to the Twilight franchise to play the role of María, the petite and softspoken Latina vampire who seduces Jasper (played by Jackson Rathbone) into forming a lethal army of newborn vampires.  We think Catalina will be perfecta para this passionate and fiesty role!  Esta nueva adición al elenco de la serie comes weeks after the controversial switch of Bryce Dallas Howard for Rachelle Lefevre as Bella's flame-haired nemesis Victoria.  Count on Twilight chisme to always keep us on our toes! Thought that the Wisin y Yandel nomination for Best Pop Video was the most exciting thing that could happen to the VMAs?  Look out, porque los VMAs just keep getting más y más emocionantes!  Just added to the list of performers are hip-hop mogul Jay-Z and avantgarde pop princesa Lady Gaga!

With a total of 9 nominations for "Poker Face" and "Paparazzi," Lady Gaga, along with Jay-Z's bella esposa Beyoncé, is the one to beat at los VMAs este año.   About getting to perform at the VMAs, Lady Gaga had this to say:

I'm simply gutted to be both a performer and nominee at the 2009 VMAs. In fact, I'm so happy, I could die.

Qué dramática!  Pero, de veras, did we really expect anything else from this over-the-top cantante?  Personally, we can't wait to see que locuras she'll be doing (and wearing!) onstage!

Jay-Z, quien está nominado para Best Hip-Hop Video y Best Male Video, will also be hitting the VMA stage in style.  Su nuevo album, The Blueprint 3, is due to drop on September 11, just two days before the VMAs.

Also announced today are three additional presenters: "Manos Al Aire" cantante Nelly Furtado, Miranda Cosgrove of iCarly fama, and "Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester, who was last seen partying it up en el más reciente video de Cobra Starship.

We're hoping that Jenni Rivera's nuevo sencillo "Ovarios" shows the regional Mexican cantante that it's always darkest before the dawn.  Rivera, who is currently coping with the death of her ex-husband, has blown away the Billboard competition with her new, eggcentric ballad.

"Ovarios" jumped the regional Mexican airplay chart from 29 to 13 en una sola semana! This marks Rivera's 13th song to reach the Top 20 on Billboard's regional Mexican chart, a feat only one other female artist has accomplished, nuestra querida "Reina del Tex Mex," Selena.

"Ovarios" has not only brought career success to the singer, but it's unleashed un montón de drama in the Mexican music circuit.  In "Ovarios" Rivera habla de dos cantantes regionales de México with whom she's feuded, Alicia Villarreal and Graciela Beltrán, respectively referring to them as "la Jefa" y "la Reina:"

...dicen que viene la Jefa, miren cómo estoy temblando, no sé de quién serán jefas si nadie les hace caso, y las que dicen ser Reinas son de un pueblo abandonado.

There's one award Twilight didn't take home last night at Fox's Teen Choice Awards, and that was "Choice Comedian."

George Lopez, who has a new late night talk show premiering this fall on TBS, proved that even though he's not a contemporary of Selena Gomez, R-Patz, nor Demi Lovato, he's still el hombre más chistoso en el barrio. 40+ is the new tween!

George said "Gracias" to the teen academy for picking a Latino as best comedian, and shared his night with his beautiful family.

Last night's Teen Choice Awards were full of fun and surprises from Britney Spears accepting the Ultimate Choice Award from Miley Cyrus, to hosts the Jonas Brothers acting out several crazy dares (getting "tattooed" by Kat Von D AND getting a haircut from Mike Tyson onstage?!)  And of course there were things that were not quite as surprising, como Twilight cleaning up with ELEVEN awards.

Pero, como siempre, our eyes were glued to the red carpet and the equally fun and surprising get-ups las estrellas rocked at the show.  Let's see the nominees!

Who knew that the Teen Choice Awards were all about transformations?  Style transformations that is!  Este año, not one, but TWO famous raven-haired beauties have decided to hit the bottle before walking the red carpet for the Jonas Bros-hosted event.  The bottle of bleach that is.  Es cierto, Kim Kardashian has now gone blonde for real after testing out that Beyoncé-looking wig a few months ago, and joining her en una nueva vida dorada is tattoo queen Kat Von D!

So who rocks the platinum locks mejor?

Hmm... tough one.  El pelo rubio softens Kat's tough rockera-chick exterior a bit, and Kim's looking like a bronzed diosa in those caramel waves.  Pero we're so used to seeing estas chicas con cabello oscuro that we wonder what made the signature brunettes committ to un nuevo look tan dramático.  Será verdad que las rubias have more fun?  Guess we'll have to wait to find out!

In another edition of singing husbands gone wrong, Luis Fonsi is reportedly carrying on una aventurilla con la bella boricua Lilia Luciano, actress and host of Escándalo TV (a very fitting job title in this case, no?)

This isn't the first time The Fons has been caught in a compromising situation con otra mujer. Several months ago Luis was confronted by his wife, telenovela estrella Adamari López, for reportedly getting chummy with Chilean modela Kenita Larrain in Viña del Mar, Chile.

Now, Fonsi has been caught sending text messages to not just any woman, pero una de las mas bellas de People En Español?  This does not look very good.  The relationship between los dos famosos seems even less innocent when considering Fonsi's rumored history of infidelity and Luciano's impending divorce.
